Ok not seeing a massive increase when measuring the exit velocity when hitting off a tee. I sat through her last hitting lesson and had her use her ghost and her practice bat, a combat maxium. I did see the highest speed using the ghost, but it was only 2 miles an hour over her other bats. It's not scientific, but it's not like I saw it suddenly trying to enter low earth orbit.

First of all, 2mph is a pretty large margin when talking batted ball. I will take that any day. You are NEVER going to get a bat that outgains another by 5-10mph anymore (unless you
are talking a cheap bat compared to a top line). It wouldnt be legal anywhere. So you have to take numbers for what they are. Also, numbers depend on hitter as well. Some bats work
better for hitters than others. So the bat they swing better, will have better numbers...obviously. Had people hit old metal better than a Ghost/LXT/yada yada.

Also, nobody has said the bat hits for itself. You aren't going to pick the bat up and hit homers when you don't hit homers...come on. Maybe expectation needs
to be put a little more in line by folks. If you know bats, you know this already. I don't pick up a new bat and think Im going to hit a ball 50 feet farther, unless I hit a senior softball bat...haha.
People are happy to have a bat that is better than whats out there and NOT from the same manufacturers as usual. A lot of people are just bitter because of this last statement to be honest.

If anything you are pointing out how much of hitting is unmeasurable. I can't say that the one specific hit wasn't a freak occurrence or that she shouldn't be seeing better performance and doesn't swing that bat well. How do you know, what do you use as a baseline?

I actually do agree that people just doing testing is subjective to a lot of things...it is what it is. I kinda look for a common denominator
on things like this. But I do go with what is hardlined. That the Ghost has a lower compression of any bat out there...well below others. That
alone will indicate better performance. How much...I think depends on the hitter. So I leave it at that. Again, if people get bent out of shape
because its not a LS or Demar getting the attention, that's tough. I will guarantee that we would see way less fight back
on performance if this bat was a LS or demar...haha.

But saying that her one hit may be a freak occurrence...it could also be that one hit was the one actually squared up dead on. Who knows. Which is what
is supposed to be measured. I know I would take 2mph better...im just going with your numbers is all. If you expected 5-10mph,
then I guess it wasn't what you expected.

The Combat Maxum is an old school bat akin to the old Eastons. They are tanks and take huge punishment. They also take a huge number of hits to open up. Once that happens, they continue to get hotter and hotter to the point where they spectacularly fail. If your only seeing a 2 mph increase in exit speed between the two, then it'll be one of 3 things usually. The Combat is ready to fail due to so many hits on it, your hitting coach is teaching improper mechanics as opposed to the High level swing (Its always the indian and rarely the arrow) or you have your DD in the wrong bat size. Most members on here that have the Ghost see an immediate 4-5 MPH increase. Heck, a member on here PM'd me and asked my advice on what I would order for his DD if she were mine. I told him a 33/25. He ordered it. His DD was swinging a 33/23 Ghost and averaged an increase of 4-5 MPH with the new Ghost over the old Ghost. Imagine the difference between her old bat and this new Ghost. Say she took a 2 MPH over her old bat (it was bigger BTW) with the 23 oz. Ghost.. Add another 4-5 and she has increased by an average of 6-7 MPH with the properly sized Ghost for her mechanics, swing speed and strength.

Yeah, none of that helps make any sense. The combat is a BNIW 100$ bat we bought because we have two cold weather tournaments before high school tryouts and we didn't want to crack her ghost or her still favorite cf9 zero dark.

I do wonder if the better compression of the ghost will show when she gets a chance to hit off a live pitcher instead of a tee.

I will say that this little experiment to try to see how much better the ghost may be has just reinforced how important technique is over what bat you swing. For every batter I have tried this on, ive seen that the highest speed always came off a hit within 10 or so degrees of down the middle where you can tell that they extended and followed through.
