Going to do the "order a bunch of gloves" from justballgloves for DD1 to try.

Main questions are does anyone know anything about quality of the Marucci gloves and is the 32.5" size that the Nokoma's only come in to small for a 12" ball

Every review I've read on the nokoma's are great but worried about the size on the catchers glove.

When you say “ order a bunch of gloves “, do you mean order a bunch of catchers mitts? You mentioned a 12” ball, what age is your DD? The only Marucci I’ve ever held before was a 12.75” Founders in Mesa color, super nice glove! But for the $349 MSRP, I can think of several better options, like a fully custom Rawlings off their builder.

As far as Nokona, I’ve always been a fan of their Sandstone leather Legend series, which your DD probably doesn’t want any part of......super stiff! Sorry, I can’t answer your question about the 32.5” mitt size. A couple of years back I did use a Walnut leather catchers mitt, don’t remember if it was 32.5”? I do remember I didn’t like the feel of the hand and finger stalls. I also think for the price of Nokona mitts, there’s much better options out there!

Sorry, I really didn’t answer any of your questions......

Just catcher gloves this time. Marucci's can be had for $249. was thinking the Marucci, HOH, nokoma plus series and liberty advance.

DD is a second year 12 who has the talent to justify a high end glove.

Already tried the Mizuno classic pro and said hand stall was to small.

Love the "talent to justify a high end glove" comment!! I love gloves and that comment makes me smile! A couple of mitts you've GOT to take a look at is the All-Star CMW3000, I have this mitt and can't recommend it enough! Also you need to get in touch with Drakemir, our Vinci rep here and get pricing on a Kip leather JCV series mitt, you can get it in either 33" or 34".

You mentioned a Heart of the Hide......if you want to get her a high end glove, this is where I would go! Contact Chad a SoftballFans.com, his name on there is milocoman. He is the custom Rawlings contact and he'll save you some money! ScottyDont is a forum member here and he ordered his DD a true HOH custom, you can PM him and get his opinion on the mitt and the order process. Don't know where he ordered his?

If if were me I'd skip the HOH Rawlings on JBG, they're all Dual Core Technology. Although the leather feels really nice, they get too soft and too floppy way too fast! Get a true Heart of the Hide Rawlings with Japanese tanned leather! I've always liked the Liberty Advanced series mitts but it would be the bottom choice of the mitts I just listed above, just my personal preference! And honestly with Rawlings taking over the Liberty line, on JBG all the Liberty mitts say 80% factory break in, 20% player break in......so I don't know if they're using the Dual Core leather on the Liberty mitts? Hey, you said high end:cool:

Hopefully Drakemir and Eric will chime in and help confuse you a little more;)

As always, ANNASDAD's advice is excellent.

At the end of the day, the "right" mitt is the one that your DD is the most comfortable and confident with, that will hold up under the playing conditions she faces. For my DD, it's a Vinci JCV34 with a H-web. She is currently 13yo, playing 14U TB, and started using it at the end of her last 12U season. I don't expect to be buying a new mitt for a while.

My daughter loves the Rawlings 34" Liberty Advanced, but they do make it in a 33" as well. She plays 16U. At $130 its hard to beat.
