It's old tech and takes the higher swing speeds to make it a decent bat. Otherwise, IMO the bat, whether the torque model or not, is crap unless you are using it as a cage bat. They make great cage bats. That's about all they're good for though.

Please give us your opinion. :)

Luv ya Q but your killin' me with the wise-cracks :D LMFAO at this one!

Truth be told, I have yet to see a player that doesn't have a swing speed in the high 70's or more make full use of the potential this bat has. Since a majority of the players IME don't have this kind of swing speed, IMO, it's only good for a cage bat because, like past Easton offerings, it is a bat that will take A LOT of punishment.

ETA: And let's be honest. Easton, like most other major bat manufacturers, hasn't come out with any new tech in an extremely long time. All they've done in the past is tweak what they had until it couldn't be tweaked anymore and then they just gave it a new name and paint job. OTOH, the Ghost is an entirely new paradigm shift for them and the new tech involved is awesome. That bat is ONE HOT STICK!

These Mako Torqs were/are great bats after break-in. Take away the twisty lower handle and they're the same bat as the regular Mako. The torq handle can be locked into place if you don't like it by wrapping the seam with tape or taking the grip off, epoxing the plastic handle seam and regripping. I'm not a huge fan of the twist handle but some of my players did like the feel.

Others will chime in and say different things but I actually measured exit speeds from multiple players using different brand bats of similar sized/weighted bats. Based on the exit speeds that I measured, these Mako/Mako Torq bats will rival Xeno's.

DD had one when they were first released. She hit some bombs with that funky looking bat. Today if we were trying to correct rotating the hands we would look at the Axe bat.

Good solid barrel, relatively hot. The twisting handle is a joke, but for $80, it seemed like a decent buy.
I use it for fungo, but DD thinks its too heavy

The torq can hit very well if you give it some hits. I think the twist handle is kinda stupid and I taped over it for my wife. But it does hit hard if you can compress
the barrel.

Not on the level of other bats if you are looking for instant heat.

DD loved her '15 mako. It really opened up after dad put 75 hits on it. I think her swing speed was low to mid 60's when she was hitting it. She liked the response from the Mako, she thinks demarini are spongy feeling. Now she swings a '15 LXT plus -8 and wont look at anything else.

I have a '14 orange mako 33" -10 in the wrap for $150 if someone wants it.
