I regripped it using the two dot overlap method and it looks great. I surprised myself. I got most but not all of the adhesive off.

Same thing with my daughters LXT. I got lucky and was able to pull an edge up with my thumbnail and the rest just pulled off with It as long as I went slow and easy. Never had an issue with the rubber "grommet" on the connection joint. The bat mainly stays In the bag since she got her CF9.

Looking to add a Marucci Connect FX or Easton Stealth Flex to the bag this year and retire the aluminum cage bat. If anyone has any info or personal opinion on either of these two bats?

Thanks, guys! Just enough info in this thread for DD and I to do our first re-grip on her CF 9. We just covered the clear plastic wrap on the bat handle. From this thread I knew to get 1.1, and I wasn't surprised by the clear tape under the old grip. Guessed at the 2 dot method by overlapping 2 dots during the wrap. It feels great. She loves it.

Just another fun daddy daughter moment made possible by DFP. We also got this bat in excellent condition from a fellow DSP'er. Thanks!

BTW, the change was more for cosmetic purposes than function. There are two identical bats on her team.

I got out our old combat bats that came with lizard skins for comparison. It's strange. There's really no overlapping to speak of. The cushion on the re-grip feels more like the original Demarini than the Combat factory LS grip. Way more tacky than the Demarini original though.

Its personal preference. Had people only overlap the line...which makes it thinner and of course will be longer up the handle. Then had people overlap more
, which give it more thickness and less down the handle.

We have a couple of the Marucci CatFX Connect for our team, one is a 28/17 the other a 30/19. Both are very good bats, but the ball seems to come off the 30 better than the 28. Very durable so far (been using them as team bats for a year and a half now and have had lots of cuts). My only complaint is that the grip tape is very short on them (which is annoying for me when i use them to hit fungo, but is not an issue for the girls hands).

Just figured out you can customize the little piece of bat tape that wraps around the grip with DD's name and number on the Lizard Skins site. The marketing people got me again.
