Make sure that you check for wobble between the handle and the barrel - especially with LS bats...
Brian's right, are you buying it from someone you know, if so what age is the girl who's been using it? I'll buy a used bat in a second, for me it's a ~10 second visual inspection or I'll hit a few balls with it myself, if possible?
