Anna's Pro206 and one of my Rawlings re-laced in old school stiff tan lace.

Did you re lace them? I do so for fun and for friends. I just ran out of my leather supply and have to replace it. I am thinking that the price of leather has really gone up since I bought my last supply. (BB was a sophomore in HS then. LOL)

No, I actually didn't do these two. I sent them to Jeffrey Rous in Texas, he does really great work! My initial plan was just to send him the 303 trap, cause honestly I did not want to tackle that one! I usually do any H or I web gloves myself. He have me a great deal on her glove so I threw them both in the box together and shipped them out. I've probably re-laced 5 or 6 myself this year, but I don't want to even attempt a trap glove!

Photos are your friend. LOL I've done four or five and did so without a photo. So, I had to go find one in a store and take a photo. I used to do the total glove with the padding etc. However, I'm phasing out of all of this stuff so, I have not bought any of that stuff. I actually used to make the thumb leather replacements from a pattern I made. Lacing a glove is really an interesting proposition with all of the changes that have happened as they have made these gloves. Your gloves look exceptionally well done.

Thanks Cannonball, I'd probably try to re-lace a Japanese trap (Ichiro)....maybe, probably not!! But this American style trap just looks too lace intensive for me to wrap my head around. I *think* there's 5 separate pieces of lace just for the web on a Rawlings (American) trap web! No thanks! Yeah, Rous does incredible work, I know me and Casedawg have talked about him several times, Casey loves his work. He charged me $60.00 to do the black 303, It's probably got close to $30.00 worth of lace in it plus $10.00 freight....do the math! I think it's a no-brainer!

The leather looks great on the black one (and the tan one doesn't even look like there's a crease in the palm - I really need to step up the quality of the gloves I use!).

Did you or Jeff clean or condition the glove as well? Not meaning to turn this into a "how to break in a glove thread", but the more I read, the more I'm becoming hesitant to use ANY sort of conditioner or cleaner on the leather.

This makes numbers 3 & 4 Jeffrey has done for me, I specifically ask him not to clean or condition either one, just re-lace them. Anna's 206 is fairly new, just broken in for this past Fall ball. She loves it, I'm not the biggest fan of camel/blonde gloves but this leather is nice. The camel laces that came in it.......not so much! The laces were terrible, no they sucked! But they suck in just about every new glove out there now unless you order a custom (or re-lace it). The black Pro303 was practically new, maybe caught 50 balls. I made one of the ball dad's a crazy offer and he took it. Don't know why, I've always wanted a black trap glove with tan laces, looked like the perfect project glove!

As far as a conditioner product, Lexol in the brown bottle for me, it just works, great stuff. And Jobsite or Obenauf's beeswax for the palm liner, seals out sweat. Most new gloves are so oil infused, they don't need any conditioner or break in product for a long time. Just feed them when they become dry.
