I mention the MEO24 because of the hand stall size for your 9 year old DD and her position, the trade off is the stiffness and the break in time. If she was a first or second year 12U 2B, I could easily rattle off 10 gloves that would work perfectly! Plus that mesh MEO24 will be light. And I love that web:D

Not finding anything when I search for MEO24-L, did you mean the MEO24-M?

Just out of curiosity I went and measured her 12" Xeno which actually measures 11.5" tip of index to bottom of heel.

In contrast my Rawlings PROS27TMO 12.75" measures exactly 12.75" tip of index to bottom of heel.

It appears that Rawlings Is fairly close to advertised and my DD has been playing with .5" less than expected. A 11.75" should be just fine assuming Rawlings Is either spot on or slightly larger than advertised. I dont have a Rawlings made softball glove so there Is no way of me knowing If the same applies to their softball lineup.

I see where you edited and added this....sounds like you’re measuring correctly, very tip of index finger, straight down through the palm, and to the outer edge of the binding at the heel. And no, Rawlings is notorious for being a 1/4” shorter than their listed size! Of the Rawlings I own, my 12” NP6 is the exception, it measures 12.25”. With the NP series, I’m hoping the new 12.25” NP7 will actually measure closer to 12.5”?

Sounds like we need a glove size index to go along with our bat size index on this forum. :) I think the 11.75 will be good. If It measures .25 short, then Its still same size as her current glove, couldn't believe It measured a .5" shorter. If Its spot on or a .25 larger, no big deal because shes only going to get stronger.

So have you decided on a particular glove model?

Im still waiting to hear from Drakmir, but In the case I don't hear from him, Im leaning heavy towards the Rawlings Liberty Advanced probably a custom. I've never been disappointed In a Rawlings. Its a little more than I was aiming to spend but after peaking at her grades online I feel like she deserves a little reward for her hard work. I've also looked at the Mizuno MVP Prime and Pro Select. Aly didn't like the brown leather of the Pro Select. I guess she gets that from me. I've always had black leather gloves or a dark mocha. Appearance obviously doesn't matter when It comes down to It, Its just a preference thing. Probably didnt help Ive always told her the old Deion Sanders saying "look good, feel good, play good." Just left out the part about getting paid good. We looked at gloves from Wilson and she did not like the web on those gloves. I cant blame her, something just looks off about them.

I know you said don't put too much thought Into It, but that's just one thing I have not mastered yet when It comes to purchasing sports equipment or apparel. I think looking at every little detail Is part of the fun of It for me.

That last sentence you wrote tells me that you and I are very much alike! As far as the Mizuno Pro Select, they're the real deal!! When it comes to FP gloves, I've never been a Mizuno fan, we've been on teams with 8 to 10 girls who were using those old floppy Mizuno classics, I swear it seemed like 90% of the girls we know used that glove! They all looked scary dangerous to me!

The Liberty Advanced, custom or not will serve your DD very well, but there's not a Liberty out there that will touch this:

Plus I love that color, not so much the white binding though......I would definitely add the Pro Select to the mix!

I said in an earlier post I don't look at many FP gloves, the only Pro Selects I've looked at were baseballs gloves. I was very impressed when I saw the Mizuno Pro Select fastpitch gloves with a proper button lap.....NO VELCRO!!

Mizuno classics sound like the Nike Athena I bought cheap as a backyard mitt while I was waiting on my Pro Preferred. After playing catch with It one full week I realised why It was on sale. Floppy like the ears on a St. Bernard. DDs current glove has the velcro, I dont mind It until she starts undoing It and tugging at It after every pitch. I doubt she will ever have another one with It again.....In fact I can pretty much guarantee It since Im the one who ponies up the dough.

I know ShawnC has already gotten his DD a sweet Rawlings glove but I thought I'd ask what you guys thought about the Mizuno Global Elite series? Currently advertised at $89 ($250 MSRP)...does this glove fall in between the old floppy Mizuno Classics and the Pro Select series? At that price point it would seem to be a decent value for some folks here if the glove itself holds up for more than a season or three?
