12" Vinci Fortus is smaller than the 12" Vinci Custom. DD used the heck out of her Fortus this past year. I think it could have gone longer but she wanted a new one for Christmas so I said ok :)

I can easily believe that although I’ve never ever seen or touched a Fortus before. All 3 of Anna’s 12” customs are big 12” gloves! They’re easily a 1/2” longer than her 12” Rawlings Pro206 and the 12” Pro1000’s we’ve had. But Rawlings are generally a 1/4” shorter than their listed size, almost always!

Drakemir needs to put me on his payroll, or I’m REALLY going to start pushing Rawlings

HAHAHAHA Or atleast send you a nice Christmas card.

Whats the deal with Rawlings not putting the new adjustable wrist strap on the gloves smaller than 12"? Are the sub 12" gloves just fitted to have a tighter fit on the hand so Its not needed?

I’ve never noticed that before.......went and took a look, I assume you’re referring to the Liberty FP series? Honestly I don’t look at a lot of fastpitch gloves or any gloves with velcro or wrist closures.

Sorry, I don’t have an answer to your question, but smaller gloves (~11.75), smaller hand stalls usually? Maybe the Rawlings decision makers decided that the 12” and up gloves are the only ones that get wrist closures?

Wish someone here had a 12” ME024-L to measure, for some reason I think it’ll tape out smaller than 12”? We have a mesh 12.5” RCV-VM that was gifted to Anna, it barely measures 12”. Wonder if the MEO24 is the same way? Shawn, I would say the MEO24 is an option, even though it’s mesh, it’s a Limited so the leather is Kip!

That mesh RCV-VM is easily THE stiffest glove that’s ever came through our doors, and I’ve owned some stiff gloves! I keep waiting for Drakemir to send me a MEO24 to sample:p

I was thinking the same thing. The sub 12" hand stalls may already be fitted to a smaller standard and the 12"+ are geared more towards a wider variety of hand/wrist sizes.

We spent a few minutes this morning browsing gloves and I think I might have an equipment snob on my hands. Either that or her mother's pickiness has been officially handed down to the next generation. Its all part of the fun for me honestly. Makes It that much more exciting when you are waiting for that "dream glove" to hit the front porch.

What do you think about this glove?

Its a baseball glove which I honestly dont know If It even matters. Im going to sound like a total noob but I dont really even know the difference In a baseball infield glove and a softball infield glove. The glove I use to play and practice with her Is a Rawlings Pro Preferred Trap for baseball of course. Ive always been around and played baseball, I didnt even give fastpitch a thought until my daughter moved from coach pitch baseball to fastpitch at the age of 7, mainly because In my area they did not offer fastpitch before that age and we didn't know If she would stick with It or want to move to another sport. We got lucky and she found her love on the first try. Its been a learning process with a lot of things ever since. I know you said you probably wouldn't recommend a high end glove like HOH at this age, but at that price, hard to turn down.

Love the Neifi Perez series of Rawlings, one of the best infield patterns ever! I have a 12” NP6, and Anna’s BF has a 11.25” NP2. Great gloves! But unless your 9 year old has gigantic hands that NP5 is not going to work for her, they have pretty good sized hand stalls.

In case anyone is interested, the NP gloves work best with the traditional grip over the TIP grip. They usually end up with a single break in the heel unlike all the Pro200 series that have a wide TIP grip because of the dual break heel. Still, Anna’s BF wears his NP2 two in the pinky, so it works.

My next Rawlings will be a custom 12.25” NP7, it’s so new they haven’t put it one the custom builder yet. Been wanting a larger glove with an I-web, the 12.25” NP7 is the model Manny Machado uses.

I wouldn't have known that unless you had told me. It Is really looking like the liberty advanced Is going to be her next glove. If I could just get her to like the white color scheme.

Is there a noticable difference In going from a 12 to an 11.75? I look at her 12" Xeno and I dont know If I want to go any smaller. This glove will likely transition with her to a 12" ball. But I see a lot of IF wearing sub 12" at her age. We should have stopped at Dicks today and let her try on some just for giggles but I had a voice conference I had to do for work so we came back to the town where we live, where there Is no choice In gloves except for the entry level stuff that Hibbets keeps In stock.

Yeah, I’d skip DSG, the last 10+ gloves I’ve bought have all been bought online sight unseen. The difference between a 12” and a 11.75” will be noticeable, but where it really matters is how the manufacturers actually cut and make the glove.....one glove makers 12” glove may measure 12.25” (my NP6), and one glove company’s 11.75” may tape out at 11.5”. So a 1/4” difference in “listed/stamped” size is actually a 3/4” difference.

I know it’s easy for me to say........buy her a glove that’ll work for her now and next year (at 10) knowing you’ll have to buy her a bigger and better glove when she moves to the next level.

Drakemir must be on vacation........I’d still touch base with him before I buy. Depending on what a MEO24-L actually measures, that would make a great 2B glove, just know it’s going to be stiffer than any glove your DD has EVER had on her hand before

Not finding anything when I search for MEO24-L, did you mean the MEO24-M?

Just out of curiosity I went and measured her 12" Xeno which actually measures 11.5" tip of index to bottom of heel.

In contrast my Rawlings PROS27TMO 12.75" measures exactly 12.75" tip of index to bottom of heel.

It appears that Rawlings Is fairly close to advertised and my DD has been playing with .5" less than expected. A 11.75" should be just fine assuming Rawlings Is either spot on or slightly larger than advertised. I dont have a Rawlings made softball glove so there Is no way of me knowing If the same applies to their softball lineup.
