Would you say the same of the Catcher's mitts? Because DD's JCV-34 is nowhere near 33.75". It's at least an inch smaller than any 34 I've seen.

Thanks

The catchers mitt would be the exception. The 33 and 34 are from the same pattern - the only difference is the web. We have been after them for a true 34" mitt, but still no luck yet.

Catchers mitts are measured by circumference, not straight down the fingers to the heel/binding. Of course there are no fingers. I’ve honestly never measured a catchers mitt before, maybe Drakemir can answer this better than me. Without knowing the exact measurement, my JCV-22 mitt does seem small, but the entire mitt is a pocket!

It's definitely worth looking into if you're in the market for a quality glove that will last years when taken care of properly.

I want to comment on what YOCOACH said here, and I agree. But man, they could be soooo much better! There’s 5 Vinci gloves in my house right now so I feel I paid for the right to say this.....with 3 simple things (improvements) Vinci gloves could easily move to another level. Okay this first one might be tough, and expensive......make the palm liner out of the same leather as the shell, now I realize this is pricey upgrade so we’ll leave this one out.

Now that that’s off my chest, I know we have Drakemir as a rep, and we can get Limited series Vinci gloves with a $269.00 or a $229.00 MSRP for a pretty dang good discount. But I think for a glove with those list prices, for not a lot more money on the cost side, Vinci could do so much better with their laces and their finger loops. With those two things being stiffer, thicker, stronger, and just better, the longevity on Vinci gloves would definitely improve!

Grogger, these guys are trying to sell you on the BV1929, it’s a great glove but it’s more the actual pattern than the glove. Great utility pattern! Again, with thicker, longer, maybe even padded loops, especially the thumb loop and lace like Tanners lace with true 1/4” lace in the fingers and web. Do those two things and put a H-web on the 1929 and I’ll buy two of them:p

Oh yeah, the last two tan customs were a straight up ugly yellow, make them out of TAN leather!

Okay 1929 lovers/owners, flame on!

Come on now, I never flame well written posts ;) And I will send feedback to them regarding these items - while they will never be the biggest glove dealer in the market, to do try to pride themselves on being one of the highest quality gloves available.

What's to flame?:D Your suggestion for improvements are spot on. DD has 2 Vincis and I have 2 myself. Like any other product, there's always room for improvement until it gets to the point where it can't be. Then it takes on a revolutionary new design and the process starts over.

Thanks guys, another thing I’ve said here is Vinci’s customer service is second to none, Wayne has handled two issues for me, no questions asked, he just fixed the problems. Great experience with their CS!

We are still early in the lifecycle with our Vinci's here...one DD has the BV1929 which was primarily meant for pitching/shortstop duties but she grabs it for outfield duty as well and the other DD has the JCV-VM34. Both gloves are holding up well so far and have been getting a lot of work. Given the initial quality of the gloves I'm pretty confident they'll last for a while yet, there isn't any problem with the finger loops or the laces at this point (2 yrs on the catchers mitt and 1yr on the BV1929).

Glad they're holding up and working well for both of your girls Tatonka. Honestly, I would imagine that 95%+ won't ever have any problems and probably have no idea what I'm talking about with the laces & loops.......and that's good, I hope that's the case!

Just a follow up as the OP here ...

Ordered 4 gloves from JustBallGloves for DD to evaluate:

- Wilson A2000 Superskin 12.5"
- Marucci 12.5"
- Mizuno Pro Select 12.5"
- Nokona X2 Elite

Initial impression is they are all very nice gloves. Individually:

Wilson - I've never seen a ball glove with such a small wrist opening. DD and her friend (both small hands) could barely get the glove on. I have no idea if it was a manufacturing defect in this particular glove or just a design flaw (imho) with the model. DD didn't love the Superskin. Going back.

Marucci - This is one of the finalists. We both really like this glove. Well made, comfortable on the hand, etc. The only negative DD has is the color (I know, I know). While I see it as a strange shade of grey, she sees it as almost mint green. I thought she was crazy at first, but it's not an inaccurate description. I'm hoping she can get past this aspect for a fair evaluation.

Mizuno -Very well made glove and DD liked it with the exception of one aspect she couldn't overlook. The finger slots are very roomy. You could almost put another set of fingers on top of hers in the slots. Going back.

Nokona - The other finalist. She likes everything about this glove ... but she and I are both concerned about how broken in it came. I would say it would take a good 3 weeks to get the other gloves anywhere near how broken in this glove came out of the box. We are both concerned that it will get floppy after just a single season. NOT a good thing for a $350 glove.

Grogger, post up some pics, let us see them! I honestly don’t know anything about the X2 Elite, but if it’s that loose already, I’d return it! Too bad the Pro Select doesn’t fit her hand, is it a baseball or fastpitch model?

Man, don’t want to sound like a broken record but I know what a Marucci and a top tier Nokona cost, can’t understand why you wouldn’t consider a custom Rawlings? Definitely less expensive than that X2 and a Marucci baseball glove, is the Marucci a BB or a FP glove?
