One more suggestion, for a utility glove I recommend that whatever brand or model glove you’re looking at......get an H-web! It’s just a great web for infield and outfield. My absolute favorite web is the single post hinged web on the Rawlings RV23 but it only comes on that glove model. My second favorite would be the H-web and then the I-Web. But I do believe the H-web is the most versatile web.

Today I bought a Pro303-CTB six finger trap. There is no better outfield web than a trap, they form an insane pocket, just not an ideal infield web with no reinforcement at the top of the web. Grogger, get an H-web, you and your DD won’t regret it.

What brand/model catchers mitt does she use?

She has two catchers mitts. Her primary is a Liberty Advanced 34". Last year I bought her a Vinci JCV-34 which she likes, but she just finds it too small and I get where she's coming from. It's a 34 that's more like a 32.5. Great construction but it's her backup mitt currently. Got the Liberty Advanced relaced and had a new palm pad put in last year ... and it's like a brand new glove.

Also noticing most 12.5" gloves have baskets, 12" seem to be a mix of H-web and baskets, and under 12" seem to be almost exclusively H-web. Assuming that is because infiedlers prefer H-webs?

Not sure if you are looking at Vinci - but what you are looking for is just about a perfect fit for a BV1929-L, 12.5 (thought it measures closer to 12.25) Basket web, open back. Will last her through college with proper care easily.

I do have a RHT - Factory Broke-in one in inventory if you are interested in a price - feel free to send me a message.

Also - I won't pretend that I have put my hands on anywheres near as many gloves as Annasdad - he knows his gloves extremely well!

DD is a catcher also. She uses an All-Star Pro Vela CMW3000 as her primary mitt and a Vinci JCV34 as a backup. When I first got her the Vinci, she hated it. Now that she's in College, she's using it more and more and is really starting to love it. She told me yesterday she's going to be switching her primary to the Vinci shortly. When she wasn't playing behind the plate for TB, she'd play mostly 3rd and occasionally 1st. Right before TB season last year, I bought her a Vinci BV1929-L. She absolutely loves it; so much so that her old Nokona Buckaroo that was all broken in, well taken care of and was never far from her catchers mitt for the past 5 years is now sitting in the garage.

Do the Vinci fielders gloves run as small as their catchers mitts?

AS ANNASDAD mentioned, it's a 1/4" shorter. I wear a cadet large golf glove. DD's hands are as big as mine. It was a little small finger stall-wise for me but it stretched to fit both of our hands really well once broken in. Breaking it in took awhile though since the glove is so well made with quality leather. It's definitely worth looking into if you're in the market for a quality glove that will last years when taken care of properly.
