What is the difference between a dual core HOH and regular HOH? Thanks.

The Dual Core gloves use Featherlite leather from the Horween tannery. It a very oil infused leather that's thick and feels great, but the Dual Core's were designed the all have specific break points depending on which model you choose and what position you play. They break in really fast, which is what most girls want, but they get floppy real fast also!

True Heart of the Hides are much harder, stiffer leather that last much longer than the Dual Core HOH's. If any of you are familiar with Rawlings Horween leather it always amazed me that the Horween tannery would put out a leather like this, I guess Rawlings wanted a fast break in leather with the Horween name on it? Cause the true Horween Rawlings usually took a good solid year to break in and could be passed down to your grand kids!

The Dual Core glove would make a great glove for the rec player would still wants a higher quality glove and doesn't play the heavy schedule of a TB player. maksoftball's DD definitely does not need to use a Dual Core glove!

I just went to Justballgloves.com to take a look at all the Rawlings "fastpitch" gloves to make sure they haven't changed anything and to make sure I was telling you correctly. Every Rawlings fastpitch says Dual Core Technology with soft leather shell.

Break-In: 20% player and 80% factory! They had one (1) traditional HOH that must have been a returned custom, it had some dude's name embroidered on it.

So I also looked at all the Rawlings Liberty series gloves, they don't say anything about being Dual Core but they ALL say Break-In: 20% player and 80% factory......I'll let you decide.

She is playing D1 JUCO ball; she is all over the place (except catcher) - mostly corners, pitcher and then outfield (because of her speed (never thought I would EVER say that about her LOL)). So she picked the glove for INF. I texted her asking why she chose the LA over HOH before I order...waiting for answer. :)

This past weekend we played in a showcase in Myrtle Beach, we drew a late first game Saturday so I got up early and was standing at the Rawlings factory outlet when the doors opened. They had one ProNP6-6JB Kyle Seager HOH left. They had it marked $179.95 with an additional $25.00 off, smoking deal! I own this glove and it's a great model, I love mine! But I'm partial to all the Rawlings "NP" series infield models. It's a black j-tan 12" H-web glove with tan laces. Rawlings is notorious for being a 1/4" shorter than their listed length but mine taped just shy of 12.25".

The store manager was a kid named Jim, super nice guy who told me to call him anytime to check on any inventory, free shipping over $125.00 I think he said?

DD uses a Worth Liberty Advanced and I have zero complaints. She loves it and it has held up very well.

That's great, I didn't say I didn't like them. I actually like the Liberty catchers mitts quite a lot! And I'd take one of the true "Worth" Liberty gloves over a new Dual Core Rawlings any day of the week!

maksoftball, since you're already familiar with the Rawlings custom builder, I thought I'd throw a couple of customs at you, I'm sure you know how to navigate your way around........and since you posted a 12" RLA12OFS, take a look at a few 12" customs:

Now these are baseball patterns, if you're not interested in a baseball glove, then disregard this post, but the customs are offered in narrow fit.

12" models, the Pro206 and NP6. Don't know if you guys like black or tan or.........but the black and tan Heart of the Hides are true j-tan (Japanese tanned) leather, if you were to go black, go with the dry black option. There's also the Pro207 which is a 12.25" glove which actually measures closer to a true 12" glove....another solid choice! The Pro206 & 207 are from the Pro200 family, these are wide and deep infield gloves and work great with H-webs.

The NP6 is a 12" glove modeled after Neifi Perez and is the largest glove (12") I *think* that you can get an I-web on from Rawlings, custom that is. The NP's are classic infield patterns from Rawlings!

One more special 12" glove to look at is a Don Morton exclusive from Ballgloves.com. It's the Pro1000-HC, great glove! Comes in all tan, tan laces, traditional red patches, vegas gold stitching, and a H-web. Morton's does an exclusive run on these about every 18 months, this glove was modeled after Dave Concepcion, the SS for the Cincinnati Reds back in the 70's. The Pro1000 is actually also part of the Pro200 family. All these gloves I listed are awesome and will be able to stand up to the rigors and extra abuse of college softball.

Here's the Pro1000:
