Just curious, since I haven't seen both together in person, is the CMW2510 a smaller or lighter glove than the CMW3000? They both list as 33.5" and the 2510 is dual hinged v. the 3000 single hinge. I've read that the dual hinge may be harder to use for small hands.
So is it the weight, size, padding, finger stalls, or softer leather/break-in that makes the 3000 too much glove compared to the 2510?

chardrok, I've had a CMW2510 in my hands once for 10/15 seconds, but watched this bad@$$ 14 year old catcher that was already committed catch my DD with one at a James Madison camp. She consistently had a 1.6 second pop time! And yes I would say lesser materials, it's more of an entry level All-Star mitt. From what I remember, it's nowhere the same level mitt as the CMW3000.

Just an update on DS ongoing thumb issues and the new Team Defender glove we picked up.
He'd tried the Evoshield, and either we didn't mold it just right, he didn't like the fit, he didn't like the way he had to wear it, or something just didn't mesh with the Evoshield. I checked the Team Defender website, and low and behold they'd added a youth size L/XL in the Pro Series. Since he's 9 and has small hands, I couldn't picture the adult sizes fitting. We took measurements and it looked like the youth size was the correct size. We couldn't find the youth size anywhere but directly from the manufacturer's website. Three weeks in, he's loving it. No issues with the thumb, it comes with a little finger and palm protection as well.

It certainly fit the bill.

Thanks for the info. I'll be ordering one of these for my 10 yo.

we went with All Star Youth System 7 Inner Gloves Medium. she seems to like it. also upgraded to CMW3000 mitt. still working on breaking that in, she is having a little trouble squeezing it. no issues since getting inner glove when using old Mizuno 31.5 mitt either (I think part of the issue may have been the notch, I hate how the hand fits into this glove, almost sideways).
