DD is playing a tourney this weekend and the temps are expected to be in mid to up 40's perhaps hitting 50. Any issues with using a composite in these temps in your experience? I know manufacturers say to not use below 60 but I am figuring that my 8 YO doesn't swing hard enough, and the pitchers in 10U do not throw hard enough (upper 40's at most I would say) for it to be an issue. She does have an aluminum bat of similar length/weight but I have read that they say not to use those in low temps either...

Use it, it'll be fine. And if by some crazy rare chance she breaks it, you can show and tell all the other dads "hey, check out what my stud 8yo just did!!"

Should be fine, I would think. We had a girl break one last year (second year 12u last year) at a tournament where it was about 38 in the morning and they company still warrantied it, got a replacement in a few weeks. So even if it was to break, it may still work out okay. I would not use the aluminum in the cold temps.

No problem with those temps and how old she is. Don't worry about the 60 degree thing, but when she gets older/stronger...40 degree with the new
bats can start to get chancey.

Did it go OK as suggested? I've had two DD go through HS seasons in the cold spring weather in NE Ohio and no issues. Only ever had an end cap pop off and that was summer.

Yes, it was fine. Thank you. I threw her about 50 pitchers in the cage at the field before her games when temp was about 45 degrees with no issues. Her games were at a bit warmer temp, maybe 50 degrees, and that was fine as well. Although she didn't really make solid contact in the games. Walked on 4 pitches twice and then in the other 2 ABs (walk and looking K...grrr) she swung and missed once and fouled off 2 pitches. Hit great in the cage didn't swing too well in the games tbh  K was against a lefty and she seemed to be getting started too late. First time she ever hit against one and I think it messed with her a bit for whatever reason.
