Let’s talk about a backup/cage bat...

Daughter just recently moved up to a 32” bat. I picked up a 2018 LXT for her, which she’s enjoying, but she needs a backup to use for machine balls/cage work. Want to keep that warranty intact.

So here’s my question - would you guys go the ebay route and buy a similar weight bat for $100 or less?

May be a dumb question, but I’d like to keep her LXT in great shape so it lasts a while. There are some great deals on 2-3 year old bats still new in wrapper, so I’d just like to get some thoughts on what your daughters do. Strangely, I’ve usually won 2-3 new bats a year in raffles, so in the past she’s always has 2 bats of the same length in her bag. I just haven’t been as lucky lately. Haha.

DD's cage bat was always last years game bat. Got into a routine of a new bat every season after I met CoreSoftball20.

Similar routine here too. With twins playing and practicing year round we need to preserve the newer/game bats as much as possible. Got a free Easton Stealth at an event this summer and been beating that up pretty good in practice also.

Jad’s suggestion is what we’ve usually done, but she went up in length so we have two different sizes. I’d like them to be at least the same length.

The tank of a bat idea is what I’m leaning toward. Just buying one we know is going to see the abuse.

If they weren’t drastically heavy, I’d buy her an Anderson leftover. But going from -10 to about a -7 won’t work well. :)

I would buy a Mako Torq or plain Mako for a cage bat. I have seen these on sale for as low as $89.00 and those Makos are quality bats and almost impossible to break. May feel a bit heavier than an LXT with the same drop but you could always go an ounce lighter with the Mako.
