Just purchased a 3' x 10' turf pitching mat with a 5mm foam backing for DDs pitching sessions in the gym.Would like to know everyone's daughter's experience using one if she has ? These things will apparently hold up to metal cleats which is a bonus as I won't have to purchase anymore Ringor turf shoes. Will also save on Duct tape as these don't have to be taped down. The foam backing will allow less force on her joints compared with a regular carpet runner.$(KGrHqN,!oMFBlWKBW,RBQm+9,qwBg--60_14.JPG!CECr,EgBWk-$(KGrHqV,!hcE0ibWGPKFBNQj-VPzDQ--_14.JPG

Usually foam backing is for use on turf surfaces. The rubber backing is recommended for gym floors.

I know the foam backing works as designed. Not sure how it does on a gym floor.

Had ours for 2 years and have pitched on it for something like 200 sessions at 45-60 mins a pop and it looks brand new. Used alot at team practices as well. No slipping at all and its been a great investment!

Nice! Does your's have the foam or rubber backing? Does your daughter use metal cleats on hers?

Its foam but not in the true sense of the word. Like a heavy no slip foam but definitely not the thin rubber that some have. Still 10u so she uses tennis shoes mainly and molded cleats at times. Id say its built to handle the metal, however I am sure it would not look the same as it does now with all those reps. Not sure it would be worth it to find out on a long term basis - I would just go in tennis shoes but just MO.

what brand did you get?

Not sure the brand, but purchased from allturfmats on Ebay.100% nylon material with 5mm foam backing that is spike proof. It comes with a 4" powerline and a 6 x 24" pitching rubber. It states that the foam backing will notslip, mar or harm gym floors.Looked at the Amanda Scarborough mat,but it would have cost me well over $400.00.
