I'm looking into getting new catchers gear and am trying to decide between Diamond and Schutt catcher gear. I'm definitely leaning Diamond though because I like the fitting better from what I've read and I like all of the color combinations (I'm liking the camo/white gear). What was your daughter's impressions of Diamond's catchers gear? Does their stuff seem to last? Is their customer service good for Incase of problems? Would you get their gear again?

DD had Diamond and loved the comfort and fit. As usual, I had to replace the shin guards but they actually lasted longer than any other brand she's tried so far. The only reason we didn't buy it a second time was that our local retailer quit carrying the brand and I prefer to keep our money local whenever possible. As for their customer service, it's excellent although I only had to deal with them one time on a minor matter.

Thank you for the recommendation Yocoach. I'm leaning getting Diamond gear...I just haven't pulled the trigger yet. Where did you guys get your gear from and how much was it?

Currently using All Star but they are about worn out. Bought ix5 shin guards about two months ago. She use them to work on blocking drills in the basement and seems to like them. Loves the quick connect of the clips and the feel, just a little too big to start using for gameplay right now but on a piece of carpet with no padding dropping down has had no complaints.

We bought it from a local salesman that would sell sports equipment to the high schools in the area but it was a side line for him and didn't do the volume needed to maintain carrying Diamond. Nobody else in the area sells Diamond but there is a local retailer that sells other brands so we've been going through the various brands before settling on Schutt. I believe we paid $320 including shipping for the set at the time. Now she's off to college so I don't know what she'll get brand wise.

I figured I'd update my catcher's gear situation. I had been looking at catcher's gear online and we decided to get the Diamond catcher gear. We ordered the gear directly from Diamond. I got the gear and so far I'm as happy as a pig in you know what. I love the gear it's so comfortable.
