And another gripe...I understand umps take some abuse from loud bleacher folks. But you know what...atleast learn the easy stuff (like bats) so that it
takes one quick and easy thing off the list of what you can be criticized for.

Back on the dirt...
Rookie question: I’m putting a lizard skin wrap on dd’s Ghost. Do I need to remove the old one? Her hitting coach said the original is about thin enough to put the new one over it.

Leave it on! My DD and many of her teammates love the feel of a double wrapped handle. I prefer It as well. We found it by accident. I did a fungo bat like this and my DD wanted hers like this and now 3 other teammates are done like this. Go figure.

So Cal
One of my DD's teammates unwrapped her new 33/23 Ghost (from Core) on Saturday afternoon a the start of team practice. I advised her that it might take a little time to break it in like the Ghost she has been borrowing (she hit her first ever OTF HR in our tournament last weekend with that bat). During batting practice at the end of the day, she drilled one off the top of the fence (195', 8' high) and sent another over with room to spare. She's pretty damned excited about it. :)

So you're one of those people? Hahahaha...j/k with ya. I sold a bat a while ago and the woman wanted me to put a lizard over the grip...I was like...what? you sure? She was like, yupper. Her dd
loved the double thickness grip.

On my DD's bat I overlapped the 1.8mm.. she absolutely loves the thickness. Just another option for people who want a thick grip without leaving the original on.

Hey Eric, how do the girls take batting practice on your DD's team? Front toss, live etc? With my DD, not seeing the distance I expect, but seeing her hit the ball harder than ever before on a line. I think it's just a matter of time for her. I really don't care if she takes one out or not, she's hitting lasers 3 - 5 ft high onto the green.. I'm happy with that, but she's greedy, lol.

During our Saturday field practices, batting is usually front toss from about 20'. We use a local HS field.

Earlier on in this thread I had doubts about the performance of the Ghost.... well it's definitely not the Ghost!!! One girl on my DD's team last night, not a known power hitter, hit a bomb. Unfortunately for my DD, she is still struggling with power this year :(. I would prefer the bat was the problem, but in this case, it's the Indian, not the arrow. Not sure what's wrong, despite poor mechanics she has always been a power hitter with very good bat speed.
