As for slowpitch, until the last few years, there were almost always different models for ASA vs. USSSA/NSA. The ones with the ASA stamp would also have the USSSA and NSA stamps. With the 52/300 or 52/275 ball becoming the norm, most newer bats have all the stamps. Several manufacturers have produced ASA only bats, however. Those bats, until the Easton Ghost ( may be wrong on this) , have been legal only in slow pitch and men's fast pitch.

Actually the opposite...most newer bats for the past few years ARE association specific. Either USSSA or ASA. Dual stamp
bats are pretty much the worst of the bunch and not popular...hence, not many made anymore for slowpitch.

The ASA only bats are far better than using a dual stamp, so most people are buying separate bats because they
want the best for each association.

Fastpitch hasn't really went into this as of yet until now.

I'm speaking of older model bats being non approved for USSSA. You are correct that newer models just changed the stamp as they still met the association standards

Not correct, when usssa changed the stamp...they required construction of the bat be different. No standard change,
but all bats had to abide by the new construction. Basically, had to do with altering.

For as long as I can remember all of the popular bats had both the ASA and USSSA stamps. I am not sure what the differences are in the standards, but if some bats are now only stamped USSSA and some are only stamped ASA then parents who's DD's play both would have to buy two bats instead of one.

I have never played high level slowpitch, but the men's beer league we played in was a self contained REC league and we only played other teams in the league and all of our rules fell under one sanction or the other.

There ya go...you hit the nail. You brought up ploy, but again went into the associations. That's where the problem
lays. ASA and USSSA will never have the same standards because they each want their money. So, when you have diff
standards, you are gonna at some point have diff equipment if standards are diff as to what is passing and what isn't.

Bat manufacturers probably have to pay a royalty to put the stamps on their bats.

I didn't mean it to come off like that...hahaha. I was trying to figure out a different way to say. The new usssa stamp
was based on the manufacturers constructing the bat so that if someone alters it, it will be quickly noticeable/detected.
I think it has worked somewhat well. Altered bats fail VERY fast in compression tests and they do mark up faster.
Now, does this help leagues and regular tournys...probably not. Do all bats really have better tech...prob not. But
that was new stamp reasoning. Was some of it BS...probably...haha

Interesting that I've been receiving multiple emails from USSSSA - advertising LS bats. Hmmmmmm
Even more interesting - they had an Easton stand at Nationals but they don't allow the bat.

Easton had a stand there...usssa didn't run a stand for Easton.

And whoever gives somebody money is who will get some advertising, the way the world is. USSSA was even advertising Wilson's terrible slowpitch bats.
