Can't wait to hear some feedback on these!
We are starting to think about a new bat for DD. Her hitting coach said she could go up a size, but she is so skinny that staying with her current bat for the rest of the season won't hurt her either.
Very intrigued by this bat!

Curious to see the true weights and balance. The more slight kids are sensitive to weight. Dd swings a miken freak black and it's balanced and true to weight.

I think it's odd that it is not USSSA approved.

That kind of makes me want one.

I also like it that it isn't from Wilson.

So, this begs the question for me....how big is USSSA across the country? We play a significant number of U-trip tourneys over the season (we're in CO but some of our out of state tourneys are USSSA also). What percentage of total youth fastpitch tourneys are run by which organizations and who is wielding the power these days?

Where I am in Midwest I think it would be tough to avoid USSSA unless you are on a team that plays mostly PGF. In my state the ASA directors are bound and determined that computers are a passing fad and brackets should be hand written and not ever to be online. Results of past tournaments should be marked "CLASSIFIED" and placed into a file for future generations to unearth one day.

To be more direct to the question, ASA will be completely replaced by USSSA in my area soon. ASA's only purpose in my area was state and national tournaments but I think that too will change.

I know slow pitch bats are commonly only approved for one sanction, I hate to see that start with Fast pitch. Big picture we are pricing too many kids out of the sport and despite the criticism of Wilson, Easton pulls the same crap like "voluntarily" removing bats from ASA approved list.

Very short sighted for the sport.

Edited to add: I was a total bat junkie until this stuff started. Not any more. I currently have no bats new enough under warranty and I don't see that changing soon. Until last year, I was buying at least two new bats per daughter minimum. I was buying and selling constantly. It was fun and I was at least break even on it. No more.

USSSA is B/C ball in East TN. USA/ASA still rules the this side of the state, including Chattanooga which is a huge softball hub in the southeast. PGF is making a push in the midstate, Nashville area. USA/ASA has an excellent director in Chattanooga who keeps online pools and brackets updated as well as anyone.

We are making the trip to Chattanooga a couple times per year now, it's about ten hours driving. Very nice facilities in general and always good competition. Love coming down there, you guys do softball right.

We were there right after the recruiting center attack. It was emotional to say the least. I don't remember much about how we did but I will never forget the outpouring for those who gave all.

Wow, 10 hour trip is a poke, as we say in TN! ;) We are fortunate to just be 1.5 hours away. Let me know what tourneys you come to this summer. We will play all but two tourneys in Chattanooga this summer. Always nice to meet other DFPers.
