I'm also wondering about PA high school softball.

Odds are your respective state organizations are playing under NFHS rules. If so, NFHS uses ASA bat standards so Ghost would be legal. To be sure look up your states high school athletics governing body main page and you will most likely find a link to their softball rules. Looks like PA and IL are both NFHS, but double check to be sure.

One of our players hit it today for first time. She just kept saying "it's so smooth". 200 foot fence, hit a few mis-hits out. Furtherst ball 240 feet (used google earth to measure to that's pretty accurate). What really caught my attention was the way line drives were flying through the infield. And of course this was straight out of the wrapper...can we assume it will get a little hotter when it breaks in? Or is it already at its peak with this new technology?

It was a concern of mine. The NFHS rules state that the bat must meet the 2004 ASA performance standard, and not be listed in the non-approved bat list. If your school districts follow NFHS rules, most do, then you're good.

DD loves the bat!

It will get a little better of course, but not leaps and bounds. Bats nowadays are made to be hot right away, but NOT
to keep getting more and more insane like the old composites did.

This bat doesn't need much "getting better"...haha

We got a chance to hit the Ghost yesterday and we started compiling numbers. So far I'm not impressed or convinced that it's the "hottest" bat in town, but far better than the Easton's in the past. Besides the ASA compression regs keep all bats in check.

Thanks for the feedback 625. The Ghost has been getting great reviews so far. My daughter used it last weekend and thought the pop was great. A teammate of hers has the PXT and my daughter let her take the Ghost for a ride and her response was "that thing has some crank!"

To each their own. I haven't gotten one bad review or even a "its ok" type review. Every one has been
over the top and if I was making a bat, I would give my left arm for reviews like that.

And I know all about compression, which is why I said its the lowest allowed compression on the market
right now.

DD's happened to arrive on her birthday Monday. We are in the heart of the craziest tb/camp schedule we have ever done so we have not been able to put it through our normal paces.

Both dd's swung it when it arrived. Dd#1 is a college sophomore who swings a 33/24 Stealth Flex at school and interestingly thought it swung just a bit heavy for a 33/23. Keep in mind that Core did me a huge, huge favor by shipping the heaviest bat he had in the batch so this is very close to a -9 weight.

Dd#2 normally swings a 33/24 Xeno and just turned 15. She gravitates to heavy endload and the -9 Xeno is the closes she has ever been to swinging a balanced bat. She really liked the swing feel of the Ghost and it is definitely different than the Xeno. Because we are playing weekends and going to camps during the week (and this has been going on for a couple weeks) I am trying to get her a few days without softball so we did not hit Monday and won't hit until Saturday when we arrive at the next tournament but she went to a camp Tuesday and hit well with it. I was hoping to ease into live pitching with a brand new bat but she was at a front toss station for her first swings and was definitely adjusting, was pulling middle pitches. By the afternoon scrimmages she was swinging it well and her last up was a hung change up that she scorched straight back up the middle and over cf head.

Edited to add: she says it swings "smooth" and that she doesn't feel the ball hit the bat. I'm not a hitter so I don't really know what that means but she meant it as a good thing.

Bat got a lot of attention and several players that we know and a couple knowledgeable dads approached me out of the blue to ask about it.

We play Saturday on our way to Colorado so I will know more next week. I think this bat is going to fit both DD's well. I am expecting to see a demo booth in Colorado so I hope she can try some -9's but for buying a bat that she has never had in her hands before I think this went extremely well. And dealing with Core is always a good experience. I don't know how many bats I have bought from him over the last 3 years or so including a couple team type buys but he always does a great job. *Always*, people. Not most of the time, always.

Aaaaaand........my DD's college team is build on long ball hitting and we were at a distinct disadvantage when playing Louisville and Demarini schools. That appears to be over.
