DD received her Ghost on Saturday...thanks Core for the ultra-fast shipping and service! I was expecting it to arrive early this week so she was the one who found it delivered on front porch after only 2 days, so she got her birthday present early.

All I can say is WOW, Easton seems to have winner here. According to DD it swings very similar to her '16 Xeno Plus (her bat of choice) in regard to speed and control, but has a more "solid" feel at contact and through exit. For reference she also had a LXT Hyper which she thought felt too soft/flexible. Both the Ghost and her preferred Xeno are 33 -10. I was worried that the 33 -10 size Easton I ordered would feel too light since they really marketed it as a balanced bat, but figured Easton previously always swung a little heavier so we'd try the -10. It is spot on, not a "light swing" at all but still a very fast swing. Put the Zepp on it to do rough swing speed comparison and DD was faster with Ghost than Xeno on 20 swing average off tee in cage, FWIW (72 Ghost / 68 Xeno). Did a very crude exit speed eval with Pocket Radar and Ghost did better +8, but will need to set up an accurate test to say that decisively. Always thought trying to evaluate the "pop" of a bat was totally subjective and meaningless as far as review goes, but to my naked eye the ball seems to jump off the bat faster and hit net harder than anything she has used before. The sound is awesome! Neighbor across the street has a DD who plays travel too. He heard her hitting in the garage batting cage and came over to see what was making the sound, it's a very impressive sound! It reminds me a bit of the crack a wood bat makes when you hit just right. The sweet spot really is as large as advertised, basically the entire barrel less the very end.

IMHO the Ghost has proven far superior to the Mako so far. Easton not only produced a bat to rival LS & Demarini, but has pushed past them and will no doubt take a bite of their market share. Of course time will tell on durability, but if Easton holds true to form, this should be a very durable bat.

Of note is the warranty. Read that little card that comes in the wrapper. There is a sticker on the barrel that you have to peel off and save. They require it to match the permanently printed code on the handle to honor warranty. I read that by chance and wouldn't have noticed the sticker otherwise.

The only con I see in it is the OEM grip. It looks cool, but is very thin and seems kind of cheap (like a low end bike handlebar grip tape). After 50-60 swings it was separating and slick. Will be switching that out for the thin Lizard Skin. The handle is thin, which DD really liked. She said it felt like her old Rocketech in that regard, and the lightweight and small knob is great.

Can't wait to get it out on the field to do live BP to really see what it will do! Just hope team doesn't sign up for too many USSSA tournaments.

DD and her team have a tournament down in New Jersey this coming weekend. We're gonna stop at a place in New Jersey that has the Ghost in stock, along with the new 2018 L/S and Demarini bats, that allows you to try them out in their facility off a pitching machine. I'm gonna have DD try out the Ghost and the new L/S and Demarini bats. I'll post feedback.

Easton is NOT using this in slowpitch, but Miken/Worth is which is why I knew about the technology.
I would kinda expect Easton to try and start something in slowpitch, as they have fallen behind huge
in that arena as well just like they did in fastpitch. I would expect them to make a new ASA slowpitch
at some point with this tech. If not, it would be pretty darn stupid to not keep up since they have
unveiled it already.

BTW, Easton has had the barcode for a few years that you had to remove and keep with receipt. Just most
people didn't buy their bats to realize it :)

So, with the non USSSA approved bat, how do I find out if DD could use this bat in high school games? We are in Illinois. DD is not playing this summer but would love to pick one of these up so DD can start batting practice with it all winter and be ready for spring high school games.

I'm also wondering about PA high school softball.
