I am looking to buy a first base mitt for DD, she is a tall, strong 12 year old playing very competitive travel ball.

I have narrowed it down to Louisville's LXT or Xeno, Rawlings Liberty advanced, or Easton's core pro.

Trying to keep it under $150. I currently get a discount on wilson products, which includes Louisville, so the LXT out the door is 150. Not sure if it is worth it or not, I can't seem to find solid info or reviews.

Any information on these gloves would be greatly appreciated or other suggestions.

Thanks

I just ordered the Liberty Advanced for $127 shipped from Epic Sports and will let you know what she thinks. She loves the regular model and I love my LA catchers mitt. Hoping others will comment.

Worth verison or Rawlings version? I thought the Worth LA was a great series of gloves/mitts, and I hope the Rawlings version is at least equal.

I chose the Easton Mako above ^^^^^because she's 12 and it's a 12.75" mitt. The couple of vendors I looked at, it seems the LTX is a 13"? If that't the case I would personally spend the extra $30 and get a All-Star 13" baseball mitt. Ballgloves.com has them with a 10% off coupon which puts them at $180.00. The baseball versions use Maruhashi leather. The Liberty Advanced is a good glove, I'd probably skip the others you listed, this All-Star is in a completely different league then the others and if she's playing a heavy travel schedule, spent the extra money, you'll be glad you did. I don't know anything about that Easton Mako I linked but it looks like a pretty good glove?

The rawlings liberty pattern gloves break in fast, I like them. They do get floppy and wear out quicker. DD loves her rawlings gamer 1B glove.

I would recommend saving another $70 and buy a heart of the hide Rawlings or A2000 since she plays a lot of ball. You should be able to find a very lightly used high-end glove for $150.

First of all, thanks for the feedback. I agree with the 12.75 comment, just wish there were more options. Went with the Liberty, considering the time of year and being able to break it in quickly. I will definitely look at the allstars in the future.

First impressions on the liberty : quality glove, seems larger than the other 13" gloves we tried on, I like the wrist adjustment better than velcro, so far so good, I will update if anything changes

Good deal, hope she likes it. I got one of our part time 1B's a Worth Liberty Advanced around a year ago for a great price before they started phasing them out, it seemed to be a great glove for just the few minutes I got to handle it.

Not trying to thread jack but how does your LA catchers fit? I'm looking for a catchers glove but my hands are pretty big and long fingers.
