I set up a small batting cage in my basement. The last few months we have practiced with
The personal pitcher. I have seen improvements with my 10yr old. It's a nice unit that throws
Small plastic golf size balls. It has many settings for fastballs or curve balls. I didn't see any
Posts about this machine and thought I should make one.
We use a jugs net and tee also during bad weather. It's a nice set up for batting practice.

I used to have one of these before I remodeled... the awesome bonus of this machine is the plastic balls will start to warp a bit after prolonged use!!! this is actually a huge benefit. When they go through the entry shoot, depending on how the warped ball falls between the 2 spinning wheels, it'll produce some real movement or even changeups!!! This way your dd will have to actually track the ball rather than hitting a spot over and over.
Go to your local tractor/farm supply store. Look for BIRD NETTING... you can build you own full cage with it.

Bird netting is what I used . Works great.
Perfect for bad weather days.
I do have the pro model. Not much price difference.

I actually bought one 2 weeks ago... I Love using it but I'll have to wait to see if DD does. Thought it would be good in the garage. It whips those balls out pretty fast!

The thing about this machine IMO it does not give the hitter a way to time the pitch coming out of the machine. It can result in some bad mechanics for the hitter.

It actually does...it gives a bright light during what they call the windup and a duller light when the ball is released. I may have that reversed but I hit off it today and was able to time it nicely.

In the basement that light is so bright it blinds you. I put a little electric tape over it loosely to dim it. My 10 yr old can time it pretty good.
Not a issue in my opinion.

Purchased one for DD years ago which the light did not work, I don't have any experience with one with a light, I did let her use it in her room to catch balls thrown from it to increase her reaction time and increase her eye for curves and other movement pitches. The one we had or we still have it, the green top that turned and feed the balls into the hopper, the shaft final cracked after years of use and after several attempts to repair were unsuccessful, it just sits in the closet.

hmmm, a new softball toy, eh. no, wait, I mean a physio-educational tool designed for both gross and fine motor skills enhancements, as well as accelerated cognitive-sensory response, and perfect for optimizing college acceptance. yep, wifey is sure to be good with this.
