After my 10U daughter broke her 6-week old CF9, I was forced to scramble and find another bat for practice. A buddy of mine had a Boombah that wasn't being utilized (daughter quit) and he said I could have it.

I was dumbfounded when Gracie picked it up and started hammering balls just as far as she did with her DeMarini. She's swung it in the batting cage twice and the field twice, and from our sample of one...I'm a believer. Now that Wilson/DeMarini has screwed Core and the market for "reasonably" priced bats is drying up, I WILL be giving Boombah a chance with our next purchase.

In light of the discussions about "Monsta" bats and similar alternatives, I just thought I'd pass along our experience.

How much do they go for retail?

$250 for their latest, greatest bat.

FWIW- They also have previous year models on sale as well, which is what Gracie was swinging (2 year old Tsunami).

I had a player on my team last year that broke 2 of them.

Did you think they performed well prior to breaking?

We lost 6 DeMarini CF8's or 9s in our group...plus an additional 30/20 Marucci Pure my dd broke. It seems to be an epidemic in the fastpitch bat world. I personally like the DeMarini's the best, but I've completely lost faith in their durability...the -11 bats specifically. The Mako is the only bat locally that I haven't seem problems with. Their over-sticker-weight and relative lack of pop out of the wrapper has previously made me keep them at bay, but I'm reconsidering given how fragile everything else seems to be.

Not really to be honest. Seemed a little dead out of the wrapper, but that could have been because the others were using well broken in CF7/8s and some Xeno's. Its actually the only bat I have seen break, plus an Easton Synergy. My daughter still uses the CF7 that she had at the time the Boombah bats broke and its going strong.

Normal size?? She's pretty solidly built and she swings with bad intentions, but she's about middle of the pack size-wise on her 10U team. She is known as a bit of a bomber locally, but I'm still shocked about the broken bats.

Here she is a month ago on our way to a daughter/daddy dance for sake of reference.
