Looking for a top end glove for my oldest DD.
5'10" with big hands.
She currently has the Xeno fisst base FP glove, but it got really floppy in 9 months.
I bought a Nokona 13" First base glove and a Rawling 12.5" Heart of the Hide first base fast pitch gloves for her to try.
The hand opening on the Nokona is huge, and has a fairly shallow ball pocket. It fits me perfect (gorilla hands), but doesn't fit her at all. Very loose in the wrist and hand opening.
The Rawlings HoH FP glove, doens't have an adjustable wrist strap, has a deep pocket, but the finger loops and finger spacing are something to be desired.
I'm worried the A2000 Fp glove will be too small in length at 12" How about a 13" A2000 baseball glove?
What are the differences in a baseball and fastpitch first baseman's glove?
Have any of your DDs used baseball style first base gloves with any luck?
If so what brand, model and size?
Thanks

Dual Core Technology. Rawlings patented it. It's basically a double layer of leather with the inside layer molding to your hand which 'slides,' for lack of a better word, against the outer layer. This does 2 things. One, it adds more padding so there are fewer stingers on miscaught balls and the second thing it does is allow the glove itself to break along the necessary lines needed for specific positions and players.

ETA: And trust me, that's nowhere near their top of the line mitts. Rawlings and any other glove/mitt manufacturer's top of the line will run anywhere from $300 on up with most of them in the $400+ range. There is one exception to this IMO. Look at Vinci. Drakemir is a member here and a Vinci rep. PM him for help in what model to choose. There is no better value for your money and this glove/mitt will last your DD a good 4-5 years of hard playing if properly maintained. I have one of their catchers mitts I got off of another Vinci rep on here. I paid far less than the equivalent in a Nokona or any other "Forever" glove. It's going on 3 1/2 years old and been through the war-zone and back. It's a little dirtier than when I first got it for DD but it's still no more broken down than the day I finished breaking it in.

Hey YOCOACH, the Goldschmidt is NOT a Dual Core! It's true Japanese tanned leather Heart of the Hide mitt.

He/She asked what DCT meant; not whether the Goldschmidt was or wasn't a DCT style glove/mitt. I never said it was or wasn't. I merely explained what DCT meant as well as offered an alternative to other gloves/mitts already mentioned.

The Way-Mart site says it's model PRODCTJB...
either way, is one better than the other?
Thanks

Yes, that model is a true Heart of the Hide, the leather is definitely better than the soft Dual Core leather! Most HOH's retail for $249 and Pro Preferred's retail for $349. So that Walmart glove is discounted $75! Order it, and return it if you and your DD don't like it!
