My 10u DD has been saving her money as I told her if she came up with half, I would buy her a new bat. She is ready and has 14 games left on this spring season. I see that the CF9 and new LXT are said to be coming around 1 June.
Opinions to wait or pull the trigger now?

My advice: If you're buying a Demarini, wait for the CF9 to come out, and then buy a CF8 when the price drops. Use it for a year, and then warranty it for a CF9 if they turn out to be better than the CF8s. That's not guaranteed...the CF7s were nowhere near as good as the CF6s.

OF course, I would buy a Xeno from CoreSoftball20 anyway, since I'm not a fan of the CF bats. But that's one man's opinion.

I agree w/ ScottyDont, wait but buy the CF8 and get it a lot cheaper than you could right now :) My DD loves hers. Personally I'm a fan of Xenos too but the kid picked the CF8 and she does well with it.

Am I to understand you're advocating for someone to deliberately break their bat because the following year's model might be slightly better?

Is that just a "thing" to do now and I don't know about it?

So I can just call up DeMarini when the CF9s come out and say,.....

"I think you're new CF9 bats are hotter than the CF8 I bought 9 months ago and I'd like a brand new CF9 at no cost to me even though nothing is 'wrong' with my CF8"?

And DeMarini is going to honor this request under a "customer satisfaction guarantee" policy?

Consider me dubious of it playing out that way...

I think he's saying exactly what you think he's saying. He didn't mention any satisfaction guarantee, he mentioned warranty. You and I both know there is no trading up this years bat in exchange for next years model. If there is, then we've all probably purchased our last new bat!

To be honest, if she needs a new bat or wants one and has saved up enough of her own money, I'd just get her one now. Nothing like telling the kid, "Well, you came up with your half but I want to save $50 on my half so you have to wait three or four months."

Plus, there is no guarantee that the CF9 will be any better than the CF8. In fact, DeMarini's last couple of efforts before the CF8 (the CF6 and CF7) fell short of the venerable CF5, IMHO.

Most of my girls prefer their Xenos and LXTs, though. The 2016 models of those two are fantastic.
