The end Cap on my daughters LXT is starting to come off. It is just a small place that is coming out but I can't get it to snap back in. Will this hurt the performance of the bat?
I would recommend you go to Home Depot and get a 36" bar clamp. Use the clamp to force the end cap back into place. If you can get a little glue in there it may help prevent it from happening again.
Yes it looks just like that Xeno. I have a clamp just like the one JAD linked. I tried it and it sounds like it pops in but it won't stay in. I'm thinking it may have some dirt or something in it but I'm afraid of messing with it to much. It doesn't seem like it has hurt performance but we're just hitting in the cage right now though.
My DD's 2016 LXT+ looks similar. I noticed that there were a couple rubber pieces used to fill in the indoor turf lodged in there. I used a knife to get most of them out, and slammed the cap back in on the floor, and it seems to be holding. Just a slight little gap maybe.
No on mine. And no cleat banging either, I cringe when I see that. I'm thinking hits off of end cap maybe. I'm hoping is goes 100% south before warranty ends in March. She has got almost a full year of practice and games out of that one bat so I can't complain at all.
Edited to add- 300 hits per weeks average, few weeks off here and there, maybe 8,000- 10,000 hits on this bat? Not bad.
No she doesn't hit it on the plate it's just "well used". It's a year and a half old and has been used pretty much year round including practice 3 or 4 days a week. It's about time for a new one but it's still hitting good and I don't think the new LXT's are any better than that model.
