We have always used TCB balls. Has anyone ever used or even seen the Power Force Weighted balls first hand? If so, how would you compare them? Our team needs new TCB balls, but these are much, much cheaper.

Please let me know if anyone uses these or any other alternatives and give a review please.

Thanks,

I bought a dozen about two years ago to try them out and they seem to be holding up really well. No complaints here.

I can give you a really one-sided answer. The differences between TCB and Power Force balls are ..

  • The TCB Ball is sealed at the valve. Meaning they'll expand and contract with changes in temperature. The Power Force balls have an open valve system, which allows the internal pressure of the ball to be matched to the external temperature, via an inflation needle ( Power Force Training: Temp-Just Valve for Weighted Training Baseballs and Softballs - Power Force Training: Weighted Training Balls for Batting Practice Nets for Baseball and Softball ). What this means is your players will have accurate feedback on ball strike. An expanded TCB Ball will look like a far better hit and a deflated ball can give negative feedback when it's not warranted.
  • The Power Force Balls have a more rigid shell than a TCB Ball. The TCB feels a little rubbery and can deform prior to ball strike, again giving inconsistent feeback.
  • Longevity and Price. I've had 7 Power Force Balls returned in 3 years of sales. The proper air pressure, combined with the more durable shell, makes the Power Force Ball the best value on the market.

There's a coupon code: BETTERBALL that gives you an additional $5 off any order.

Eric F - not much difference at all. I have some of each, I am pleased. My twins hit like sledgehammer, so durability seems to be there.
