I'm not a hitting expert by any means, but really that -13 doesn't "help" you swing, but "allows" you to swing. The underlying issue is most likely swing mechanics and/or swing speed. At that much of a drop, you're REALLY limiting yourself on the number of available bats, and lengths. I think you're going to have a hard time finding a 32 or 33 bat with that much drop. I'd work on your arm strength and swing mechanics, and you might quickly find that you can get a -10 around just fine. Certainly there is some adjustment time, but if you work at it, you can do it.
