Do coaches have an unlimited number of recruits they can bring into the school? Is there a roster limit for preferred salmons at each school? I don’t know the answer. But if it’s yes at any of these schools then this affected athletes. And either yes or no it shows how little oversight there is from the university overseeing the recruits brought in.

It's not stretch to say that the number of students "recruited" exceeds the number that actually show up on the team.

I don't know about "unlimited", but a coach adding an extra one or two to their recruit list isn't going to attract much attention...until now.

At many of the schools identified, the athletic coach has only a limited number of slots that they can support through admissions. If they were to use a slot on a non-player in this manner, they run of the risk of limiting the number of actual athletes accepted and consequently hurting their own program while lining their pockets. Tradeoffs for the unscrupulous I guess. Rather than getting supported through early action, the coach would have to hope that the actual athlete was accepted via regular decision and as much as we love our kids, most aren't rocket scientists and quite likely couldn't get in to some of the schools identified without early action and support as every kid at these schools has 34ACT, 1450+SAT, 4.5 GPA and extra curricular achievements that would cause most to drop their mouths.

BTW, it looks like there is an IMG/Harvard connection in this whole mess. It will be interesting to follow as the layers are peeled back.

Parents paying to falsify test scores. In other news, teachers striking so they don't have to teach kids to pass tests.
