I will also talk about our local public HS since many of the girls I used to coach still play there so I follow the conference. 12 conference teams with about 2-3 in each division that are very good. The public school in the district next to ours will just be an absolute powerhouse this year. They are stacked 1-9 with several damn good reserves as well. 3 pitchers who can throw low to mid-60’s and all 3 play for National level travel teams. They also have legit slappers with speed and power hitters throughout the lineup. SS is a phenomenal player who verballed as an 8th grader two years ago to a D1 program. Interestingly enough, she probably could easily play for a P5 school - not sure why she committed so young. She is just a natural talent.

It will be fun to see how this team does this year. They are just a huge district with a pipeline of extremely talented players that keep coming in. Dd’s one travel ball teammate is their senior pitcher. I hope she gets to go out with a state title this year.

I think I know the team you are talking about and yes they are stacked! I think it hurt them that they play in a softer conference. Once playoffs come it ratchets up so fast. Last year they were the #1 seed and lost in the first round. That was devastating. I expected them to go very far. Our school never faced pitching like we did in semis of states and it took us a couple time through to hit them. The SS that you are talking about is legit, she is a great hitter.

Yep, and she’s a pretty darn good pitcher too. Hitting about 64-65 mph. She is just a beast.

I will ETA: I’ve heard this is her top speed. Not sure how she cruises in games but I bet she’s pretty close to that.

Yeah. Their conference was better a few years ago. Our public HS (same conference) actually faced Maggie Balint and beat her team to win Districts a few years ago.

Balint wasn't throwing 65 in HS. If the kid were talking about is throwing 65 in games that may be the fastest in the state. They should win states easily!
The kid from parkland that we faced last year was throwing 61-62 and they lost 5-4 in the championship.

If they even pitch her. I imagine the senior will get the most amount of innings like she did last year. I just think she is way too valuable for them at SS right now. They will throw her if they get into trouble.

Update: If we’re still talking about the same player, she was clocked at 65 while pitching in the conference championship game. She is one to watch for years to come!
