We are playing in a tournament in 2 weeks that is a 7GG. Our P1 is out of town and our P2 is also our C2. Since P3-P4 and especially P2 will need to pick up some slack, I did not want P2 catching this weekend. So we decided to pick-up a guest catcher that can come in and relieve our C1. Thankfully it won't be hot, but 4-5 games in a day is a lot to ask an 11 yo catcher without a break. Our guest player will be treated really really well, and will get a fair amount of innings, but not more than any regular player. I know that she could technically move up in the batting order (big bat), but I will still bat her last in the order. She is also likely a player that we would have guest when the weather in TX gets 100+ since we are a little thin at catcher.

And i agree, communication is key. All of this will be communicated with the group.

its only fair to communicate in advance with guest players as to how they may be needed. some travel at great expense to help you.. that said "bumping" paying players who are regulars never seems fair.. im all for a teams kids to get in the work they deserve.. usually my kid gets lots of innings and good at bats being that she is very versatile but i rarely see her hogging one position regardless of ability all weekend..
