The Southerner in me wants to go home when the temperatures drops below 50, but DD has played in snow flurries a couple of times. There is a reason they call us psycho softball parents!!!

If I can see my breath, I'll put on a hoodie and sweat pants, otherwise it doesn't seem to ever get that cold here. As long as it's dry I'm good from 50-120 degrees

Temps usually don't bother me...played in 100+ tons of times and below 20. This past Sunday it was mid 30's BUT had like 20-30mph winds...I had
to call it a day. I was recovering from the flu and had no excitement to venture out. First time in a long time I called out of ball.

In GA we might get 70s at Christmas or it might snow at Thanksgiving. Ok, that last almost never happens but you get my point. So we typically have tournaments scheduled into early Dec and starting back up in late Feb. Sunday, the girls had to play in weather just a couple of degrees above freezing. I would've been happy with mid-40s which I think is what we're going to get this Sunday, if we're still playing.

One of the worst things I have seen was watching game behind me ... the SS started wobbling and then just dropped. Took about 1/2 but she was OK.

Our rules do not mention cold weather but do reference hot weather. Not a specific rule but either HC or ump can call game.

The coldest we played was a tournament in the first week of December back in the 12U days. Wind chill was 28 degrees with actually temps at 35 with light rain on Friday night. That was the worst! We had tarps wrapping the dugout along with jet heaters in the dugout. As teams started losing they began dropping out. We eventually won the whole thing on Sunday night. I will never forget that weekend. It was the last tournament of the fall/winter and I wanted the girls to finish it out. Today, I would have dropped out!

What's hot weather for Chicago? 90?
