Hi All,

I’m new here. I’ve been put in charge of designing and ordering our new travel team tournament uniforms for 10, 12,and 14u teams. I’m wondering where the best places to order uniforms are? These need to last the entire year or possibly 2 years, so should be good quality. The girls are playing 8 months out of the year.
What do travel teams usually include in their uniforms as part of the package?
2 shirts, 2 pants, 2 socks, helmet? Anything else? Cleats? Practice jersey? Warm up clothing? Sweatshirts? Is there a different shirt for fall/winter games, and practices?
Any info would be helpful. We are In nor Cal so it gets very chilly in the morning during fall and winter months, but our summer tournaments are generally in 90-100 degree weather.
Thank you!

Usually packages include 2 jerseys, 2 pants, 2 pairs of socks, belt, a practice shirt/jersey, hoodie, helmet, and bag. Some orgs make the hoodie "optional", but you basically have to buy it anyways because everyone else is getting one haha... They also usually have a "basic" bag with upgrade options if you want a bigger bag or catchers bag.

We get our uniforms from Detroit's Own. Not sure if they do out of state orders, but we've been very happy with them and the quality and turn around times.

What about Boombah? Is it better to order locally or through a large company? Do they give large order discounts? Do the girls supply their own cleats? Are they required to get a coordinating cleat color?

Really depends on the goal of the organization. Ours is small. Fee gets you 1 jersey and socks for this year. Some may have to buy a pair of pants, but most already have a pair or tow in our color. 14u team not doing showcases. Dues will pay for tournaments, not bat bags and multiple uniforms. In the case of two day tournaments, we will wash them all together at hotel or laundromat. May not be as coordinated as everyone else, but girls get to use their bags and helmets from school ball that mom and dad have already paid for. We can play in 10-12 tournaments and not have to do fundraisers for a ton of uniforms. Uniform isn't going to help you hit or field. May not be the best dressed team going in, but should be very competitive and very dirty at the end of the day! Will see how it works this year.

Boombah is good too. Their pants are very durable compared to others. Yeah girls usually wear their own cleats and some orgs will say either black, white, or team colors. They just want somewhat of a uniform look, but aren't going to make them wear one brand or anything like that.

Unless directed otherwise, keep it simple.

As an org, we require our teams to use our jerseys and leave it up to the teams to decide how to handle the rest of the uniform. We have a choice of 4 levels of numbered uniforms in 3 different colors (dri-fits, jerseys, higher end jeresys & high end sub-lims) - that gives them a choice of 12 different jerseys to choose from. Players change teams so much (even within an organization) and the younder girls grow so much season to season that really they don't need to last more than 2 seasons.

We have the options for teams to buy various team pants, bags, visors, caps, helmets, socks, etc and individual teams can decide as a team if they want to buy certain items as a team or through the orgs larger order. They can get as fancy or not fancy as they want.

The 8U and 10U teams generally buy EVERYTHING. It is important to them so OK.

The older the team, the simpler they choose - most would rather spend their money on lessons, hotels, travel etc - all of which is getting more an more expensive for them. Our 14U and older teams generally buy two of the low-mid jerseys for game days and dri-fits with numbers which they can use for practice/scrimmages and as a 3rd uniform for longer tournaments. Then they let the families buy whatever pants & socks they want in solid colors (generally black and red - sometimes white though most teams try to avoid white). They can buy these through the org or by themselves as well as anything else we offer - we don't care as long as the team looks consistent on game days. Softball pants in particular don't fit every body type so letting parents and players buy what they are most comfortable in is a decent choice.

We also have a spiritwear store that parents and teams can buy a wide variety of supporters wear with the org logo on.

You can get as small of a package or large as you want for each player to get. There is no "have" to buy amount. Most places have multiple uniform packages.
Also, honestly, places rip you off for cheap t-shirts anymore. You can get half-sub dyes for pretty cheap...seen local places charge just as much
for cheap azz tshirts than other places charge for half-subs. You can also go full-subs...but they are more expensive. The half or full sub dyes are shirts
where the design and numbers are actually dyed into the shirt so that it wont ever come off or fade. Half sub is where you pick a color shirt and they do the team
name/logo and number on back. Full sub is where they can do a design on the whole shirt and gets much more intense...haha.

Also, I would kinda watch that most places just sublet their uniforms overseas and quality is suspect because they don't have the equipment to do the work in house.
That's why you see soooo many online uniform places...its because they don't do the work...they are just middle men. I usually try to work with places that do the work
in house...so if stuff is wrong, you can get fixed asap.

I tried to keep it simple..marriard covered a lot very well
