Thank you for all these suggestions. Can someone tell me what is typical to include in the uniform package included with the reg fees? At many of th tournaments I attended I noticed most of the teams were wearing complete matching uniforms. Jerseys with corresponding pants in a variety of colors. Very few teams were wearing just a jersey and black boys baseball pants off the rack at Dicks or whatever. Many of the teams had pants with colors stripes on them and looked fashionable. It also seemed like the shirts were lightweight semi fitt d sleeveless v neck with a pattern 2colors, team name and number with very fitted corresponding colors pants. It seems like the uniforms are getting more wild. And maybe because we are in California where tournaments are 100 degrees in the summer, I saw a lot of lightweight light colored uniforms. I even saw girls all had the same cleats on, which I feel is extreme. Most had batting helmets the same as well. It’s important to note that I’m at 10 and 12u tournaments.

Just jump on any site for uniforms and look at the packages offered...you can get an idea. I use Evo9X out of jersey because he makes the uni's
in house and turnaround time is like 2 weeks. But just for a reference, jump on his site and look at the packages...that will give you an idea what packages
places offer and you can go from there.

Btw, you don't have to buy helmets and equip from the same place you get uni's...many good uniform stores don't do equipment because they just specialize in clothing.
Don't overpay to somebody because you think you have to buy all in one spot or that you think you will get a good deal by doing so. There are a ton of uniform places and
its a buyers market. Price things out.

Again, what people are saying is you can go as crazy or minimal as you want. What a uni package includes is up to you and what your parents are willing to pay.
That's why I said go on a site and look at the packages. You can see packages that include half subs/full subs/racer backs/sleeves/long sleeves/hoodies/pants/shorts/towels...etc.
Packages can include the minimum or all kinds of stuff and can be modified. Think jumping on a site will help you a lot to see what is offered.

Btw, most uni's are NOT cotton. Most are the dri-fit light materials nowadays.

Only when I was in rec leagues were uniforms part of reg fees. In travel it is always been an additional separate uniform cost and each team could decide how far they needed/wanted to go to all look the same..

This is part because every team has different needs and also because if a team is staying mostly together they will re-use jerseys for their players over a couple of seasons and only need new uniforms for players joining the team. The older teams especially don't want to spend money on a bunch of stuff they wont use or don't want.

As I said - the younger ages are full of teams going over the top with matching stuff which is probably why you see all the matching stuff to 'look professional' or whatever. I swear a lot of it is just mum and dad getting to play dress up with their kid :)

If you doing org wide - through 14U and above, the less you make mandatory the better. You can provide all the options in the world for the younger teams and let them make the decisions on what options they want. We insist that all our teams select 2 of the 12 jersey options for their team and that all jersey orders go through our supplier. We then provide the teams with lots of options they can choose from.

We just put out organization order in last week so I went and looked. Here is what some of the teams in each age group chose fr every player.

8U - 2 mid level jerseys, 2 practice dri fits, team helmets, 2 pants with piping, 12 team backbacks, 12 team hoodies, team visors
10U - 1 sublim jersey, 1 mid-lvel jersey, 2 pants with piping, socks, 12 team hoodies, team visors
12U - 1 high level jersey, 1 sublim jersey, team helmets, team hoodies
14U - 1 mid level jerseys, 1 high end jersey 2 drifits,team hoodies
16U - 1 sublim jersey, 1 mid level, 2 drifits
18U - 2 mid-level jerseys, 1 drifit practice
18U (local) - 2 dri-fit jerseys

Individuals bough a variety of pants, visors, helmets, bags, etc but only our 8U/10U teams bought a lot of options. There were some team helmet orders in 14U and below for new players to the organization.

As far as Im concerned the only thing you actually need is

1 pair of pants
2 tops

1 of the tops should be more of a dri-fit shirt and the other can be an actual jersey of some sort if you must.

Personally I think way to much stock is put into the look. Hell my HS son is given a shirt in the fall and a shirt in the summer. Fees are just under a grand for the year. The money is all put into tournaments and equipment.

So the older they get, they dont wear matching uniforms on the field? I’ve never noticed that at tournaments.

Apologies my comment (if referring to mine) was more about teams that spend crazy amount on uniforms when the K.I.S.S. method is proven to work :)

As said though previous Boombah is an excellent source as is two five apparel
