Just curious, where does it say the "other team" in the article. All I see is the following:

Triple Crown Sports was contacted by team representatives following completion of the game notifying that they had played two age ineligible players in the semis and then one in the championship game. Both were over the legal age to play in this age group.

With that said, I would think the other team would be the ones to turn them in but not reading it like that. Of course, I read alot of things wrong the first few times.....;)

lol, it's not in the press release, but it's in the italics before the press release posted on the extrainnings website:

In a press release just issued by Triple Crown Sports, yesterday’s winner of the TC/USA Nationals 16U title game, the Jacksonville Storm which defeated Scrap Yard Internationals 8-7 in a game which was halted due to a protest from the Internationals, has been stripped of the championship and levied penalties upon the organization, its coaches and some players which will last through the end of next year.

I watched the game on ESPN 3 and this was brought up during the game by the Scrapyard coach. The announcers said everyone on the Scrapyard side was on their phones so I believe they figured it out and said something. The Storm coach came out with his binder and they let play continue.

Since this was 16U. 90% of these kids should have had a drivers license or permit with them (My DD doesn't leave the house without hers). After seeing this I made sure I sent an email out to my parents telling them to have the girls permit or birth certificate with them when we go to TC East Coast Nationals at the end of the month. No issues in Atlanta but I don't want to take a chance.

I've been around a long time. I have never seen graduation year used as a criteria for any tournaments. I could not give an accurate count of the number of states that I have coached TB in but it is significant. I'm truly surprised to read that statement.

FWIW - The HC for the team in question, JAX Storm 16U Davis and the head of the JAX Storm organization, Addison Davis are the same person. Also know that they used 2 ineligible players in the Semi Finals and one ineligible player in the Championship. That said, draw your own conclusions as to what happened.

C'mon, nobody except maybe a rec league goes by grad year in softball. That's a total BS excuse.

This say's it all from TCS... "We are not going to say much more than what the (press) release offered, other than we followed our normal protest protocols during the game and concluded that the player was legal based on the information that was presented to us at the time."

That means they presented officials with forged documents at the time and later somebody fessed up that the girls were indeed too old. Absolutely no mistake here. It's deliberate cheating. I hope other sanctioning bodies come down hard on this clown and his DD loses her scholarship to Central Florida.

How do you reconcile that the ineligible players were only there for the Semis and the Championship? Looks to me like they brought in a couple of ringers, someone noticed and they got caught. End of story. Now with the cover up the story lives on...
