I was disgusted and it took all the self control I had not to be one of those parents. The best was when there pitcher through a fit and started crying when the umpire wouldn’t give her a strike on a horrible change up. Literally threw the ball at our dug out and the coach just went and gave her a hug. Still can’t beli the ump didn’t toss her! Oh well, I hated losing to them but we were the bigger parents
Yeah it pains me when I see other parents do it, and no one standing up to them. I've seen many instances where we've played a "top" organization where parents curse out umpires along with belittling opposing teams players and the coaches do nothing to address the matter during the game. I known many coaches who don't want to have to deal with it if the player whos parent is causing the ruckus is considered invaluable.

Ive also had instances where a parent on DD's team moans an groans every single mistake they make or can be heard taking shots at one of the players who isn't their own kid. They players can hear it, and I'd often get the response "theyre always like that". Even came pretty close to pulling DD off a team because of it I didnt I may have ended up with a couple of bruised fists.

Who are you kidding? In NJ, we fight with our team’s parents AND the other team’s.

If someone is questioning it, it’s questionable. Whether it’s a valid question is probably a different story.

The sad thing is that this isn’t the first time I’ve seen this in youth sports. Not even the second. My very first year, I had two coaches want to go at it after the game. Not something a 15-year-old wants to see happening to kids he grew up with.

A few years ago, I had a set of parents who wanted to do the same towards the end of a tournament.

    It’s disgusting. Just disgusting.

Just saw the clip on my facebook feed - nice to see it's getting around

Our park hosted the final All-Star tournament this past weekend and while DD wasn't playing in it due to being in TB, we still went to support her friends (and DH had to help with the fields). 12U game - there was a question about the scoreboard and if there were two outs or one. I think HC thought there was 1 so the runner on first wasn't running on everything. Batter hits a fly ball to LF - they almost catch but drop it so the runner on first runs to second. They make the throw to 2nd and get her out. The offense was DD's friend's team and other team was doing scoreboard. A parent on our team got upset because the board hadn't been showing 2 outs and she tried to calmly talk to the scoreboard people about it. You could tell she was getting annoyed and the scoreboard people were like -you just need to get out of here, etc. It's so much more fun when it's not even your kid's team. Her husband had to pull her back actually..

Later - championship game, our team (I'll say ours cuz it's DD's friend's team) - HC has armbands for the C and P and calls pitches with a 3 number system. We were winning and I think the other team was getting upset. So anytime he would call a pitch, there was a mom - thinking it had to be the coaches wife - she was doing their book - kept either repeating the numbers or something. But it was just highly annoying. I was glad that our pitcher was pitching so well and able to just tune it out and get the girls out. But this isn't even TB or HS - it's rec. I know All-Stars does get a little more heated but - these girls are 11 and 12..They don't need parents acting like children.

These parents get the "MVP" award. Or the "Most Volatile Parents" award.

The dude kicking the guy in the ribs while on the ground is the MVP of all "MVPs. Somebody should get the guys name and spread all over the internet so he gets the recognition he deserves.

I think this tops the "Church League Softball brawls".

No arrests were made? That is sad. Look like some real DB dads, and moms. I have seen a couple pretty good altercations, both started by moms and finished by dads, real classy

Could be that the police and DA knew that they’d have a tough time getting convictions. It’s impossible to tell who started this whole mess, and one could argue that while one may look like an aggressor, they’re actually defending their friend from another aggressor.

    It’s a cluster.
