Is with a very heavy heart that we just learned of Chris' unexpected passing. We showed up for DD's pitching lesson today at Chris' WNY Fastpitch Academy and Chris wasn't there. It wasn't like him so we called his phone and left a message. We waited a bit and then figured he must be at one of his DDs' games, so we headed back home. On the way back, we received a call from Mary, Chris' wife, telling us he had a heart attack a short time ago.
We, myself, my DW and DD, can honestly say that Chris was a great coach, a great person, and became a friend to all of us. We will miss him greatly. We still haven't figured out how we are going to break the news to Izzy.
Here is a link to Chris' FB page. You can read for yourselves how many people he touched throughout his time here and how important he was to them and WNY softball. Like all of us, he had softball in his blood. RIP Chris.
