I’ve come to the conclusion bats are like the sword Excalibur. Each player has one that works for them and the others don’t. DD loved C5, C7, C9 hated CF8, CF Hope. Just bought the Ghost, won’t use it. Picked up a friends LXT and had 2 triples and 2 dingers this weekend.

Mine hated her CFX. She had a CF8 before that but needed a bigger bat. We got a CFX as part of the package with the org last year. She hated it, and we ended up selling it and getting a second hand CF8 in the right size.

My DD swung a xeno until recently, when I got her an LXT. Better balance, more forgiving, bigger sweet spot = more and better hits.

I happened to video my kid in the cage on new bat day. We weren't comparing or anything, but she ended up using her old sword (call it Durandal?) and Excalibur. The fun part was that the video showed her swinging out of her shoes with Excalibur--not so much with poor old Durandal. I showed her the video and smiled. She rolled her eyes. Its easy to underestimate all the stuff that goes on between my hitter's ears.

Just bought DD new PXT and she was THRILLED. She's been in a batting slump and, on a whim, used a teammate's Ghost last weekend and hit really well. Guess who won't even pick up her brand spanking new PXT now? UGH.

My daughter started with Xeno's which she loved. We picked up a CF8 Air force 1 from a buddy that was very broke in, she smashed with it and loved it. She cried when it broke. Now she hits a CFX and it is just mediocre. She has a Hope as well but has yet to use it. I am going to sell it to buy her a Ghost or Quatro Pro. By the way, she names every bat.

Not sure I've seen a kid pick up a Ghost ASA version and not love it. Now the USSSA version... well not so sure.

My DD has had a few bats she just loved over the years. Some of them weren't even well known "hot" bats. One that I remember well was her old 5150 from back in 9u. It was an aluminum bat and she swung it so much the paint was gone from a good 1/4 of the bat, just shiny aluminum.

She swings a Miken DC41 slowpitch bat now which her coach affectionately calls "Lucile". LOL She certainly likes the bat, but nothing like that old 5150.

Not every bat is for every person. What one person may love, another may hate. If this wasn't true, there would only be one bat made.
