Pitching mat used on turf field

It would have been nice if the home team did secure the mat.
Our batters did suffer. One of our pitchers suffered because her pitches were coming in too high. Without realizing it she started altering their release trying to get the ball down, when she did not know why her pitches were coming in so high.
