I'm sure they did. Doesn't mean you couldn't have fun taking that call. I REALLY hope the selection committee does not reward this move. If they are still on the bubble after beating whoever they play instead of Wichita, they shouldn't make the tournament. Sets a very bad precedent.

They replaced Wichita State with Arkansas-Pine Bluff and won both games which makes them 28-24. They now have a 3 game series with Florida and then likely the SEC tournament. Assuming the worst they end up 28-28.

They risk missing out on the SEC tourney if they get swept by Florida and Ole Miss find a way to a series against Georgia and Miss State win at least one against Tennessee.

I don't know if the selection committee is willing for this to be the year where 6-18 SEC or PAC-12 conference record teams don't make the NCAA tournament, but Missouri are not even getting votes in the rankings (though Old Miss is for some reason) so if they don't find a way to get a win or two against Florida I think they are on the outside looking in.

I'd like to see teams like Mercer, Liberty, Drake, Kennesaw State and Texas State get in this year even if they don't get automatic bids. It is interesting that several teams that got their first real post-season national experience in the 2nd level NISC tournament last year are performing at the level they are this year. There is a lot to say for getting these teams more and more experience to prepare them to compete. It would be nice to seem them rewarded by getting to go to the big show.

Their rpi is 23 and I think their strength of schedule is near the top, if not at the top. The only thing that could keep them out of the NCAA tourney is a sub .500 record, which they fixed with the schedule change.

I still think it's a chickenscat move and my wife doesn't understand why dropping those games doesn't count as forfeits.

I agree. With a 23 RPI, they're in the tournament with 64 teams getting in The NCAA pretty much seeds on the RPI. Missouri actually has an outside shot at hosting a regional. Maybe that's what they're protecting. Say they finish this week strong and then win the SEC. They would fall in the top 16 IMO.

But the school has had it share of controversy over the last couple of years including softball.
