It is my understanding that the temperature of the ball has more to do with performance than the temperature of the bat...which is why bat manufacturers do not want their composite bats used in temperatures below 50 degrees.

I was more concerned with the damage of bats. We broke 3 bats last year in one tournament, the same tournament we are playing this weekend/

Warming the bats will not help if the balls are still frozen....DD used to keep an old Anderson Rocketech aluminum bat in the truck of the car for cold weather or she would use her BP bat (last years composite), while her new composite bat stayed in the car.

Lol, I also bought my daughter a Techzilla, she loves it, probably what she will swing this weekend.

I think it was Core who said warm bat + cold ball = Bombs! I'm sure you can't control where the balls are stored the night before the games, hopefully they'll keep them inside.....keep her composite inside and toasty warm and use another bat for BP/pre-game, then bring out her warm composite for the game. JAD is correct about the cold ball issue, the compression changes and it's like hitting rocks!

That is correct AD :)

A cold bat however, doesn't help with breakage. A cold bat doesn't flex like a warm bat does. So you add a ball that is 100-200 compression higher because of
it being cold as heck, and its not a good combo. The ball is the bigger factor, but a cold bat isn't a good thing.

I love my bat warmer, but I don't think they are legal to have sitting around in plain view ;)
