 So DD's high school is up to 4 rain-outs already. Suppose to play tomorrow afternoon... forecast for rain all day. No way that game will get in. Saturday we have a three team round robin scheduled at our high school. No possibly way that will happen either. Long range forcecast says rain Monday/Tuesday.

Anyone else having this kind of luck??? Seriously starting to get old.

You can ALWAYS figure on losing at least 6 of the first few games scheduled in March. They won't be made up either because they are not conference games. Nothing new for HS softball in the mid-west in the spring.

Just sucks...after a year long break from DD playing, we get teased with a few games and then the rain started. Out of all the games cancelled so far, only one is a conference game for us. Just found out today that the conference game is re-scheduled for the day that we are suppose to visit DD's college to sign up for classes and freshman orientation, etc. We have already paid for hotel rooms at Kentucky Lake, so no getting out of it. High school coach will not be happy. We purposefully signed up for that day/weekend because we had nothing scheduled.

'In the same boat' here... I do find that some schools and coaches try a little harder than others to make the games happen if they can. It may mean moving games to another field or changing the start time.

In mass. our season starts in April, but we still lose games at the beginning of the season. "Spring" doesn't start until sometime in May, before playoffs and the start of summer weather. (Weather is much better in the fall)

Same thing here in MN. I wish they would front-load our schedule with non-conference games. Only 2 of our first 6 games are non-conference. We are supposed to start next Tuesday...but the forecast isn't looking too good right now.

Im just happy no more snow storms in the forecast and we are in the 50's finally...haha. I will take the rain :)

I hear that! I'm in Central PA, and we actually got two games in, this week. We haven't seen the 50's for games yet, but we have had two practices on the field! ;)

Next week isn't looking so great, though...

As most of probably know, Il softball fan and I live in the same area. Well we are 30 minutes away from each other via interstate. He is so right. We have also been rained out 4 times. We have not gotten off to a good start and so, we have used this time for special hitting instruction as we are in the indoor cage so much. I can't wait to see what happens when they finally get to play. We gave the young ladies a day off today since it is the first day of our spring break and it is raining hard as I type this. This will pass as some point and we will play every day. We have 4 pitchers who can throw at the varsity level and will need them.

We've only had two games (3/12 and 3/13) postponed so far, and we've played six games. But four of those six were fairly miserable because of the cold weather.

Supposed to have six varsity games next week and the highest temperature on the forecast is 44. And there's rain in the forecast. More of the same, it appears.

I should also add that our varsity team hasn't had a single practice outside on a field outside of short pregame practices on days of home games.
