Can a slowpitch pitch bat be used for fastpitch?
Earlier this year, I was looking for a bat that I could use to hit some cage BP and occasionally work against live pitching during our team practices. As an adult, I was looking for a 34" bat with a -8/9 drop. Well, everything that said "Fastpitch" on it at that size was $200+. However, I found a 26 oz Easton composite slow-pitch bat on clearance for $59. Dimensionally, it is no different from a full-sized FP bat, and has the USSSA thumbprint on it. Frankly, it hits as well as anything else I've seen that costs much more.
My daughter needs an Freak Ultra 2 OG, shaved to about 24 oz. Coincidentally that is the same weight that it seems most "big hitters" in slow pitch are using anyway.
Most common sp weight is 26 Maxload. Don't really know why the issue
Yup, I was just poking fun at sp players. The Ultra 2 was banned from most sanctioned play many years ago. Cheaters gonna cheat, so they would take a U2, paint it, and put labels of another bat on them. There may not be another sport that the players cheat as much as sp softball, and the higher the level the more they cheat.
