I don't think that's the problem. From what I've seen, they would probably kill it in a B-level. The coach clearly thinks that losing against solid competition is better than winning against weak competition.

agree with the coach 100%
losing stinks but getting better is way more important than winning and the best way to get better is to play better competition (within reason of course)

There are a lot of things to think about here-

1. Your DD is improving and she has a quality coach. Imagine being in a winning team, but not growth or development of your dd.

2. If it is a newly formed team, it does take time to gel. Be patient, building a team culture takes time. A great team sticks together, win or lose.

3. As long as your pitching sucks, you’ll never be able to truly compete with other A level teams. At this level, you need at least 2-3 pitchers to face a challenging tournament schedule.

4. You didn’t specify if it was a 1st yr or 2nd yr team. So much growth between these years, very common for 1st yr teams to take a nice share of losses. It is part of the growth process.

I think you need to keep things in perspective- if the coaching is good, girls are drama free (and have the desire to get better), low level crazy parents——you are already winning. Trophies would be the cherry on top— and with good leadership, they’ll get there eventually. Encourage dd to stay the course, continue to develop and see how she can build her team mates up. Losing shouldn’t be her biggest concern but the desire and motivation of her team mates to get better. No matter how good the coach is, if the ambition of the players is not there.....

If her team implodes, and this is an established organization, and she's a hard worker; they're likely to reward her loyalty by getting her on another team within the org. Orgs hate to lose great kids.

This is exactly what I was going to say. Your situation sounds very similar to our experiences in 14U. Looking back now, I had all the same thoughts and I can laugh about it now, but at the time it was everything. Take the long view. Great coaches, getting better everyday. She will get recognized.

Then your problem is not poor talent. If they would kill it in B level, they shouldn't be getting shellacked in A tourneys. Doesn't mean they should be winning them, but in 3 tourneys winning a total of 3 games shows something has to change.

Your DD might be an A caliber player, but if the team has poor fielding, poor baserunning, and inconsistent pitching thats a team that needs some time playing B level tournaments. If nothing else to take some of the pressure off.
