DD is a pretty good catcher. Great at handling pitchers, framing pitches and blocking. Just doesn't have the arm to be really good. I remember a couple of years back 1B coach yelled to runner on 3rd to be ready in case ball got by. 3B coach just yelled back to him "Don't worry she isn't going to let anything by". We have always had good catchers on every team we played. I think in 2 years of 14U TB and 1 of 18U we had 2 D3K reach first and 1 of those was when 1B playing out of position dropped one. It's such a luxury calling pitches knowing you don't have to worry about calling a drop ball with a runner on 3rd. I feel for anyone playing HS who has 7 K' in an inning.
