Is that you, Uncle Rico? :)

I'm glad your amused as well as cynical. At 12U, we were playing on a wagon wheel with 200' fences. There was 30' between back to back fences and the wagon wheel behind us. She hit one out so far that it nearly missed the SS's head as it flew on the field behind her.

She isn't going to play her last year of 18U eligible TB but from the time she started TB FP second year 12U to the age of first year 18U, she has amassed a superior hitting career. Her TB career stats for 6 years are BA .582, SLG 1.73, HR's 91, RBI's 238 not including individual showcases, practices or scrimmages. The last individual college showcase she was in, she went 28 for 29 with 8 Hr's, 7 triples, 12 doubles, a single and a K. The livestream video of that showcase was up for the past year but has since been archived. She also recently returned a couple of weeks ago from an indoor tournament played in the Netherlands playing against 5 other nation's national teams/Olympic SB players.

For the past two years, my DD was the top hitter in the 20 Eastern seaboard states and Canada according to the college coaches trying to recruit her and we were told that repeatedly as well as offered many Major D1 AS offers all the way down to D3's

I personally don't care what you think. Many members on here have seen her play and hit. Many members on here have seen her hit 285' plus. A couple of members were there a couple of years ago when she knocked it over a 325' boys BB fence in a 16U TB league game. Many umpires on her have seen her hit it much further. So pretty much, shut your facetious yap because you have absolutely no clue as to the caliber of players many of us on here have as DD's.

265 feet at 10U? Was there some beer goggles involved?

Uhmm no...At that age she was using what is now termed the HL swing which I taught her at age 4 and had been using if for 5 years. She was also 4' 10" tall and about 125 pounds of solid muscle with an average swing speed of 62 MPH (since we practiced 3 -4 times a week with over-loading and under-loading) and using an 11 inch ball which travels further than the typical 12" ball. At the age of 11, using a 12" ball, she had 22 OTF HR's. Granted, it was rec league pitching but still...

She's now 5'11" and 190# of solid muscle playing college ball. This past weekend, in her first true college game/ tournament, she went 5 for 8 with 2 singles, 2 doubles, a walk, a hard grounder to F5 for an out, 2 k's and 7 RBI's. The two doubles bounced back off the top of the fence which was 225' at the facility the college tourney was played in. Not a bad start for the first time she's ever faced college pitching since she's a Freshman this year.

Now her team is in Fl playing another tourney over Spring Break. I'm waiting to hear news on how she does. They arrived Yesterday late evening and didn't play today.

Then I look forward to hearing about the 350 ft tape measure shots she will hit in college.

Got it figured out. We aren’t talking about flight distance but roll distance. I do buy that.

I won't speak for YOCOACH...but I'm talking flight distance on the air.
The distance from the bat to where the ball makes it's first impact.

There are many girls out there that could hit the ball that far...if they were TAUGHT to hit with power and ALLOWED to hit with power...
Up here in the Minn/Dak area, there is a poison called small ball (Minn/Dak Training Wheel Swing) that runs through the veins of the majority of HS, Travel Ball and College Coaches.
I'm fine with teaching a smaller girl to base hit. If she's a base hitter... These coaches and player coaches seem to think it's a one size fits all batting technique...

But if there is a girl who has any combination of size, power and skill that indicates she is a power hitter...let her hit with power. PERIOD!

I agree with teaching power swing to all the kids that are athletic enough to handle it regardless of size. My DD is 11u plays for a great team and there is very little difference in the power and distance of a good hit from her at 5ft 1 and 90lbs and the hits from our bigger players. I do see the difference between their miss hits though...the bigger girls get away with the miss hit easier than my little one. We're teaching the same swing to our 6u player and she's picking it up just fine.

At our organizational tourney last year, a first year10u team from the Pittsburgh area was there. One girl, using an old beat up CF7, nearly took my head off because I wasn't paying attention. I was walking roughly 40 feet beyond a205 foot fence.

Just because many on here have never experienced seeing a hitter that powerful or read article after news article about them, doesn't mean they don't exist.

I doubt that'll happen. The 330' bomb was one of those perfect conditions type of thing I believe where every planet and star in the universe were properly aligned. She's usually good for 250 to 285 though. We'll have to see what the rest of the season brings I guess.

BTW I meant that many umpires have seen her hit it farther than 285' not 325.
