My DD was 9 as well when I got an l-screen! Took a baseball right to the temple, dropped me like a bag of rocks and I was seeing stars. After I could see I logged onto ebay and had an l-screen on the way. LOL

I've been hit every where. I haven't taken a bad one to the face yet though. I'm stupid and don't wear any gear either. I'm really good at getting body parts out of the way of the bad ones though. :D I'm sure I look silly with my legs flying all over the place.

I've had 10u dads ask me how I can still catch. I tell them you get better as they do. They don't magically go from 45 to 60 in 2 weeks. It is a gradual 3-5 year process.

I'm starting to get to the point where I feel it might be close to my time. Do it as long as you can. It'll be gone before you know it.

Oh man...my husband stopped doing front toss without a screen at about that age. Even with it she's shot it through the opening and taken him down a few times. Hats off to the parents out there.

I still remember the exact time and place where I said "no more" and that I'd never pitch to Anna without a screen again, and I haven't! Hey Bob, just wait until your DD develops a nasty drop ball, fun stuff!! Bruises will be very normal.

LOVED my time as a bucket dad and would not trade it for anything, bumps and bruises included!

We have a lesson tonight, I'm sitting here at work thinking about a few things we need to work on, definitely NOT thinking about work! You're right JAD, it's my happy place and it'll be over way too soon!
