We are going the last week but here is a little scouting report. None of the Alabama teams made it to regionals last year. Lafayette is a small school (2A, Showing 188 students) while James Clemens and R.E.Lee are large schools (7A, 1200 plus students). R.E. Lee has never had a very successful program. We played James Clemens last year and beat them. They do have some solid talent and the biggest thing that hurt them getting to regionals was they played in an area with the state champion for their classification and the runner up that has won 6 state titles on the last 10 years.
Was one of those teams Sparkman? We lost to them 3-1 in pool last year, then got put out by Tuscaloosa Co. 2-1.
Yep it was Spartkman. Buckhorn won it last year and they are close rivals in the Huntsville area. Tuscaloosa Co ended up in the top 6. You played a couple of good teams.
Thanks for the info! This, for the last two years has been our first real softball of the season. I don’t think there is a better way to start a season than this tourney! Tuscaloosa Dad watched the game with me and we had a great time watching a great game.
