I think the NPF and women's pro softball has run its course. It is just not a viable business.

I agree with this 100%. However, I think there is potential value in a pro league. I've been saying for a while that MLB needs to step in here and do something along the lines of the NBA/WNBA model. I don't know if that will ever happen but MLB has been putting resources into promoting youth fastpitch, so maybe, just maybe, it could happen.

There is definitely a leadership issue. They have to get it on TV. Period. You can't tell me that it's not doable, especially when we regularly see things like ultimate frisbee and darts on TV.

Totally agree. I would love to watch but I'm not watching flo soft on my phone and it's very difficult to watch on my fire TV without an app even through the new Firefox browser

Yeah, but it also comes down to marketing which the NPF has done a terrible job of it.

You know what sport has done a great job of marketing is the pro rugby league. They actually have commercials, they are on the local news, social media is outstanding, game day experience is fun with music and activities...and from what I can see they have been filling the seats. Houston Sabercats!!!

Came here to post this.

I also think it would be significantly less a financial commitment for MLB to fund a softball league than it is for the NBA to fund the WNBA, especially if they set up regional divisions with less cross-country travel. How much money are they gonna save if USSSA Pride rarely -- or never-- leaves Florida/Georgia until playoffs?
